Margot and I are hoping that we see something better than a picture of a beer we can’t drink like dog treats! Hint hint…

Thanks to Carrie from Scenthound (and a former Eastview parent) for getting me cleaned up! Carrie has generously offered to do monthly grooming for all of Lakeville’s School Resource Dogs! The humans I allow to live with me keep commenting on how good I smell! Thank you Carrie!

Today, I got to tag along with some other awesome dogs, my chauffeur (the guy who gives me rides), and my OG trainer (the lady who made me a good boy) to celebrate Hero. Hero wasn’t just any dog—he was Minnesota’s first School Resource Dog, and today, he was inducted into the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association’s Animal Hall of Fame as a Companion Animal! 🏆🐕

Hero set the stage for dogs like me to do important work in schools, and let me tell you, his legacy is a BIG one to follow. He made a huge impact, and thanks to him, the School Resource Dog program continues to thrive in Lakeville schools.

The ceremony was pretty cool—lots of amazing people, plenty of belly rubs, but honestly… not enough treats. (I mean, come on, I was on my best behavior!)

Hero, you were one of a kind, and I’ll keep doing my best to make you proud. 💙🐶

Baxter is our School Resource Dog at Eastview Elementary! A cheerful Yellow Labrador Retriever born on May 5, 2018, Baxter joined the team in October 2021 after three years of training with PawPADs. Funded by generous donations and local partnerships, he brightens the day for students and staff alike with his warm greetings and playful wiggles. Baxter provides comfort to anxious students, assists with reading, and celebrates birthdays with everyone. We're thrilled to have him as part of the Eastview family, spreading joy and smiles every day!

HELP US RAISE FUNDS TO SUPPORT our School Resource Dog Program by purchasing an adorable "Baxter" stuffed dog for just $15.00! Each dog costs us $10.00, so every purchase makes a $5.00 donation towards our cause. The minimum payment is $15.00, but if you're feeling extra generous, you're welcome to donate more. PRE-orders are due by Friday, November 1.
