Tara Meade is an Agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at El Capitan High School. Under her leadership, El Capitan's Agriculture Program was named the Outstanding Southern Region Program by the California Agricultural Teachers' Association, earning top honors among more than 70 schools across Southern California.

She creates hands-on learning experiences that build students' technical skills, leadership, and career readiness. Ms. Meade was also recognized as a 2026 Golden Owl Award finalist, a statewide recognition honoring excellence in agricultural education.

The FIRST EVER Premier Chapter Promotion winners 🏆💙💛

We are proud to announce that El Capitan FFA has been named the inaugural winner of the California FFA Premier Chapter Promotion Award 🎉 Chapter members and CTE Ambassadors Addison Jones and Lillian Olson represented our program in an interview with the selection committee on Saturday afternoon 🗣️ The award was officially presented on stage during Session 5 of the 98th California FFA State Convention and Expo 🌟 We could not be more proud of the hard work, dedication, and passion these students have for sharing our story 👏🌱
