Prayer and fasting is difficult, only because it’s something that starves our flesh and helps us focus more on Jesus. Our bodies naturally don’t want to slow down or not eat food for a period of time. But practices like these help us fix our eyes and mind on Jesus.

Feeling like you are far from Jesus? Wanna grow closer? Apply these habits into your life today and see how much closer you feel to Him.

Spend time in the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) to learn about the words, character, and actions of Jesus, picking a verse to carry with you.

Talk to Jesus honestly throughout the day about your joys, worries, and needs, and take moments of quiet silence to listen.

Acknowledge your shortfalls, ask for grace, and willingly hand over control of your schedule and decisions to Him.

Look for practical ways to love and help people around you, emulating Christ’s servant heart.

Get involved in your local church, and spend time with other believers who encourage your faith.

Doing these things helps us to develop a missional heart. Now go and do something great with Jesus!

“But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you.” 2 Timothy 3:14

It’s easy to lose track of things sometimes. We’re bombarded with so much information daily, and if we’re not vigilant, some important details can get lost. When we’re on mission, it’s crucial to keep God’s heart in mind. He’s eager for everyone to be saved and to learn about his son, Jesus, and the salvation he provides. It’s vital to remember our purpose and who we’re called to serve. Without a clear purpose, our plans won’t succeed.

We’re taking promotional tactics to high-altitude extremes because a message this important deserves to be shouted from the top of the tower. If climbing a water tower in full stealth gear with a giant banner doesn’t convince you to apply, we’re not sure what will. The view from up here is incredible, but the journey waiting for you at YWAM Montana is even better. Consider this your official sign to drop everything and join us! Apply for a DTS today!

Work Duties Are Part of Ministry
There are many verses in the Bible that show us how our day-to-day work can be worship and service to God. Keeping a space clean, organizing and cleaning up after one another are all ways we can love and respect each other. We do these things not only out of love for one another, but also out of our faith and desire to honor God.
Joshua 24:15 says: But if you refuse to serve the Lord , then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.
So, the next time you clean up a space or organize something, be encouraged! You are doing more than completing a task—you are honoring God with what He has given you, even if it is simply the floor everyone walks on.
One of YWAM’s Core Beliefs is Service. James 2:14–26 reminds us that faith is demonstrated through our works. Hebrews 13:15–16 speaks of offering a sacrifice of praise to God by doing good and sharing what we have. These things are pleasing to Him.
Our work duties in our programs are a wonderful opportunity to reflect Jesus through what we do. Whether we are cleaning, organizing, helping, or serving, we can worship God through our work.
And, of course, we can have fun while doing it!
