We have BIG news! 🐝 We’re changing things up for Happy Hive—with a new location and a new day of the week!

Our next Happy Hive on Thursday, August 27 will be cancelled as we make the transition.

We’ll be back together on:

After September 8, Happy Hive will meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month!

Help us invite families who could benefit from:

• adult conversation without the interruption of little ones (childcare provided!)
•parenting hacks from other parents and professionals,
• preschool and kindergarten readiness tools,
• fun and games, and
• time to unwind and find a little balance and recharge

Planning ahead for Christmas? Information for The Salvation Army’s 2026 Christmas Assistance Program is now available!

📍 Stop by The Salvation Army – Port Clinton Service Center and pick up a flyer from our foyer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You do not need to come during office hours—the foyer is always accessible, so stop by whenever it’s convenient for you!

🎁 The flyer includes important information about sign-up dates, eligibility, and required documents.

🏡 Looking for affordable housing?

Sandusky Metropolitan Housing Authority has opened its waiting list for the HUD Housing Choice Voucher Program today (July 13) and will be open until July 30, 2026 at 4:00PM.

The HUD Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8 ) Program helps eligible families, seniors, and individuals afford safe, decent housing in the community.

✔ Choose a qualifying home that meets program requirements
✔ Pay an affordable portion of your income toward rent
✔ Housing assistance is paid directly to participating landlords

Applications can be submitted online at www.SanduskyMHA.org.

Applications are also accepted in person at:

Housing Authority Office
1358 Mosser Drive, Fremont
on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays Between 8:00AM-Noon and 1:00-4:00PM

Need help getting your child ready for the upcoming school year?

Tools for School applications are available 24/7 in the vestibule at The Salvation Army Ottawa County Service Center, located at:

Stop by anytime to pick up an application. Once completed, please return it to the black mailbox located inside the vestibule.

Our Free Community Dinner this Monday, June 22nd, has been sponsored anonymously in honor of the recent birthdays of Babs Meisler and her son, Chuck. Our staff and volunteers are cooking up a special meal of Chicken Fajita Rice Bowls, Chips & Salsa, and a homemade Iced Cinnamon Cake. Don't miss this special tribute to one of Port Clinton's special celebrities!
