SSU Teacher Residency Info Night on 9/23!

In partnership with Sonoma State University, we are offering a teacher residency program.

This provides the opportunity to get your teaching credential while receiving a monthly stipend. We will be having an in-person informational session about the ROOTS (Rural Opportunities and Outcomes for Teacher Scholars) residency program on Wednesday, 9/23, at 5:30pm at the Kelseyville Unified School District Office.

Kids are welcome, and snacks will be provided.

The director of all of SSU's residency programs (including ROOTS and many others in the region) will also host a virtual information session on 9/17 at noon.

Both flyers were provided by Sonoma State University. If you have any questions, reach out to Sarah Rapp at [email protected] or Rhianna Henry Casesa at [email protected].

✅ Make sure your contact information is current in Aeries
✅ Complete the Income Verification Form

California provides additional funding based on the number of families that qualify for certain programs. When every family participates, our schools can receive all the funding they are eligible for.

Completing these forms does not cost anything or affect your child’s enrollment. It simply helps ensure that our schools receive every available dollar to support our students.

Thank you for all you do for LUSD students!

August 17, 2026

LUSD Community,

I am writing to share an update about an incident that occurred at Clear Lake High School at the end of the school day today.

Student privacy laws limit the details we can share. However, the incident involved a person on campus who physically and verbally harmed others. Clear Lake High School staff responded immediately. The local Crisis Unit and the Lakeport Police Department were also called to the school. When they arrived, both agencies assessed the situation and responded to the immediate needs of those involved.

Earlier this evening, school officials received a report of threats of violence at Clear Lake High School for Tuesday, August 18, 2026. These threats were immediately reported to the Lakeport Police Department. Officers investigated the reported source of the threats and took appropriate action.

At this time, law enforcement has determined that there is no credible threat of violence at Clear Lake High School. School will be open as scheduled on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

We ask families to talk with their children about the importance of reporting any threat or concerning information related to school safety. Concerns can be reported to your student’s school office or directly to the Lakeport Police Department. We will have school counselors on site if needed.

The safety of our students, staff, and community is LUSD’s highest priority. Thank you for helping us keep our schools safe.

Sincerely,

Matt Bullard

Lakeport Unified School District Students are back in the classrooms Today!. That means buses are running their routes, students will be walking to bus stops and school campuses, and students will be driven to school by family members. Please take great care on the roadway! Allow more time to get to your destinations around school start- and end-times, watch for pedestrians, and stop for buses when the Red Lights are FLASHING!! Lakeport Police Patrols will be increased during those times focusing on Education, but also issuing citations when necessary. Help us by helping keep the children safe on their way to and from school!

We have the best LUSD Community! ♥

The first week of school is always hectic. School shopping, routine changes, back to school night, but that never stops our community from coming together and putting students first.

Last night, August 10, 2026, was Open House, and our students are excited to be back.

A huge thank you to the families for your patience, understanding, and flexibility. We appreciate you and all you do. Also, thank you to our staff for being present and welcoming students as we get ready for this school year.

School starts tomorrow, August 12, 2026. If you were unable to attend the Open House and need to get your schedule or classroom assignment, you can call your school office.
