The Son Rise School Texas School Ready and Texas Rising Star (4stars). Longview and Kilgore ISD. CCS accepted. 6 weeks-12 years old. We teach children life skills and morals.

We strive to provide developmentally appropriate care in a secure, warm environment that encourages the total
development of each child. Our goals are to help children recognize their individuality and worth, to develop self-
discipline, and to develop respect for the understanding of individuals different form themselves. ABC Son Shine School/The Son Rise School are Christian childcare centers. We
will be teaching biblical truths, weekly Bible Stories, and songs. However, “religion” will not be taught as we feel that it is
everyone’s choice, made only by the parents. We will uphold and support these choices. As Christian centers, we feel that in times like these, children need to be taught Christian values and morals: to love and
respect themselves and others. By building on the foundations of biblical truths starting at a young age and up into their
teen years, they will have solid answers and beliefs to make good choices over bad.

Sometimes it really isn’t about the broken pencil.

A child can explode over a lost turn, the wrong colour cup, a small mistake or being asked to stop playing. It can look like they are overreacting. But often, that small thing was just the last thing.

They may already be tired, hungry, worried, embarrassed, overwhelmed by noise, upset with a friend, or trying hard to hold it together.

In that moment, arguing about how “small” the problem is usually makes things worse. A calm voice, fewer words and a little space can help far more than a lecture.

The teaching can come later, once the storm has passed.

Big anger is often a sign that a child is having a hard time, not trying to give adults a hard time.
