🎓 Today’s 3rd Grade Learning

Today, our 3rd-grade student at Driven With A Purpose Academy Inc. participated in a focused learning session designed to strengthen reading, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, handwriting skills, and STEM Educational Activities.
📖 Oral Reading & Comprehension
Our student practiced oral reading fluency and comprehension. A major focus was learning how to ask and answer questions about a text while referring explicitly to the text for evidence. This important skill teaches students not only to give an answer, but also to explain where they found the answer in the reading passage.
📚 Vocabulary – Lesson #2
We studied and practiced the following vocabulary words:
1. Prance – to move with high, lively steps.
2. Encroach – to gradually move into an area or space that belongs to someone or something else.
3. Smitten – strongly attracted to or affected by someone or something.
4. Allude – to refer to something indirectly.
5. Fleet – a group of ships or vehicles traveling or operating together.
Students were encouraged to understand each word’s meaning, pronounce it correctly, and use it appropriately in a sentence.
✏️ Grammar – Types of Sentences
We reviewed the four types of sentences:
- Declarative – makes a statement.
- Interrogative – asks a question.
- Imperative – gives a command or makes a request.
- Exclamatory – expresses strong emotion or excitement.
Understanding sentence types helps students become stronger readers and more effective writers.
📝 Handwriting
For handwriting practice, our student wrote the vocabulary words from today’s lesson. This activity reinforced correct spelling, letter formation, neatness, and vocabulary recognition.
