Lakeland, FL | One-on-One School Aide

Little Feet Nanny Services is looking for a compassionate, energetic, and confident individual to provide one-on-one support for a wonderful 5-year-old girl with Down syndrome as she begins kindergarten in a public Montessori charter school in Lakeland.

This is a school-year position, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–2:30 PM, 30 hours/week at $18/hour.

The ideal candidate is patient, engaging, physically active, and passionate about helping children build confidence and independence. Experience with Down syndrome, developmental differences, Montessori, early childhood education, special education, or nannying is a plus, but a willingness to learn is just as important!

This position has reopened, and we are looking for someone who can begin ASAP or by September 8, 2026, with classroom shadowing before starting. If you’re looking for a meaningful opportunity to make a genuine difference in a child’s life, we’d love to hear from you! 💛

When families reach out, they usually think we’re going to jump right into the nanny search.

But before we ever talk about candidates, we have a few really important conversations first.

We talk about what’s working, what’s not, where your days feel the most overwhelming, and what kind of support would actually make life easier. Sometimes that leads to hiring a nanny. Sometimes it looks a little different, and that’s great too!

These conversations are what inspired two new ways to support families:
•Household Blueprint – for families who want to create a clear plan before hiring so you know exactly what kind of help your home needs.

•Family Balance Boost – for families who already have support but want help creating better routines, smoother days, and more balance at home.

I believe the best placements don’t start with resumes and interviews; they start with understanding your family.

My goal has always been to help families build a home that feels calmer, more supported, and works well for everyone. The nanny search is just one piece of that.

Most hiring decisions don’t start with interviews, they start with a clear plan.

One of the biggest misconceptions I see is families thinking their first step is finding candidates.

It isn’t.

Your first step is figuring out what your family actually needs.

A consultation call gives you the chance to slow down, talk through your schedule, expectations, budget, and the kind of support that will truly make life easier. Once you have that foundation, interviewing becomes so much simpler and you’re much more likely to find the right fit.

This is Part 1 of a series on why consultation calls are one of the most valuable (and most overlooked!) parts of the hiring process.

✨ Have you ever hired someone and realized later the role wasn’t clearly defined? I’d love to hear your experience in the comments.
