Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage and sacrifice have secured freedoms that we often enjoy without fully realizing the cost that was paid.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we reflect with gratitude on those who laid down their lives so that others could live in freedom. We are especially thankful for the liberty we have in this nation to worship openly, proclaim the Gospel boldly, and gather together as the body of Christ without fear.

Scripture reminds us in John 15:13, “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” While Memorial Day is ultimately a day of remembrance for those who served and sacrificed, it also points us to the greatest sacrifice ever made through Jesus Christ, who gave His life so we could have eternal hope and freedom.

Today, may we never take these blessings for granted. We remember. We honor. And we give thanks. 🇺🇸

Last week, several of our band, choir, and art students represented Parkway Christian Academy at the FACCS Junior High State Fine Arts Competition hosted at Southeastern University right here in Lakeland.

This event brings together the top student performers and artists from Christian schools across Florida, all of whom qualified through district competition to advance to the state level.

We are especially proud to congratulate:
🏆 Julian Shaffer – 2nd Place, 8th Grade Piano Solo
🏆 Lilyth Hattaway – 2nd Place, 8th Grade Crafts
🏆 Large Instrumental Ensemble – 3rd Place

Congratulations to all of our students who competed, performed, and showcased their God-given talents. Thank you for representing Parkway with excellence, creativity, and dedication. We are so proud of each of you! 🤍

We would like to give a special thank you to all of the businesses, families, and community donors for helping to make the 2026 Teacher and Staff Association Week unforgettable.

This week would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of our Parkway family, local businesses, community supporters, and friends. From gift cards and donated food items to supplies, giveaways, drinks, treats, and Amazon wish list purchases. Every single contribution helped us celebrate our amazing teachers and staff.

Thank you also to all our volunteers who gave their time to help this week with setup, deliveries, and lunch coverage for the teachers.

Our sophomores really cut to the core of learning during their pig dissection lab. Equal parts fascinating and a little gross, but definitely unforgettable.
