📐✏️ Math is Everywhere! ✝️➕
Our 7th & 8th graders discovered that math isn’t just something we do in the classroom. It’s woven into our everyday lives! From their passions and hobbies to school, sports, and even our faith, they found ways they use math every day. Just like our faith, math is all around us. Even when we don’t always notice it! Yesterday was a truly special day at Resurrection Catholic School! Bishop Noonan, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Erika Wikstrom, and several distinguished guests joined us to celebrate the completion of the recent renovation projects across our campus.

Following Mass, Mrs. Haas shared a timeline highlighting the successful completion of the projects and proudly announced that, even after the renovation of four buildings, Resurrection Catholic School remains debt-free.

Father Angel also shared the exciting news that the Administrative Office Building will be dedicated in honor of our former pastor, Father Tim LaBo, in recognition of his many years of faithful service and dedication to our parish and school community.

The celebration concluded as Bishop Noonan visited and blessed the newly renovated spaces. It was truly a spectacular day for our church and school community and a wonderful reminder of all that we have accomplished together.

We have so much to celebrate, so much to be grateful for, and so much to be proud of! Thank you to the Florida Catholic for helping us capture some of the beautiful moments from this day.

One of the most precious things that happens each school year is watching the bond that forms between our eighth graders and their kindergarten buddies. Over the course of the year, these students become like siblings to each other, giving our younger students someone to learn from and look up to and giving our older students the opportunity to reflect on their growth over their years at RCS. We know this new group of buddies will truly help each other grow in compassion, character, knowledge, & service as the year goes by!

Did you know Lakeland has a sister city? On Friday, our 8th grade class had a special visit from high school students from Imabari, Japan. These students are visiting Lakeland for a few weeks as part of a cultural exchange. We are grateful they took time to visit our school, show a short video about schools in Japan, and teach us the art of origami. Many students were inspired to visit Japan someday and experience the culture for themselves!

Worship Wednesday!
At this week’s school Mass, our staff served as Liturgy Leaders. Father Angel used the Gospel as an example of the importance of asking for help to solve problems, first in prayer, then by speaking with love to the one who has hurt us, then involving an adult. We also learned that where two or three are gathered in prayer, Jesus is truly in our midst.
