Parents and guardians, don’t forget our annual open house is coming up on Tuesday, September 22 from 5-7PM. All K-5, specials teachers, and the library will be open for any questions! All families will need to sign-in in our cafeteria first and then can explore the rest of campus. Beginning this week we will be having an Accelerated Reader World Cup for grades 2-5. Whichever homeroom class PASSES the most A.R. Tests until October 2 will win! Their prize will be eating lunch one day in the library with a treat and show of their choice! We also have some FIFA items in the A.R. Store to further motivate students. We can’t wait to see our students compete to win and reach their reading goals! ⚽️🏆📚❤️🦅

Parents and guardians, PLEASE don’t forget about using the public library as an essential resource for reading outside of school. All PCPS students are eligible for the the PLUS program wherein they can use their student ID in place of a library card and order 5 books to be mailed to your home. Once you are ready to return the books, you take them back to any Polk County Library book drop off location at any PCLC library. PCLC libraries are fine free and you will not have to worry about that if books are late. Students can also access Hoopla, Libby, and other library apps through PCLC using their student ID #. 📚💫📖

We at Griffin are incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of American country music legend, Dolly Parton. Dolly’s generosity, kindness, and humility will be remembered and honored for generations to come. Her Imagination Library has put over 300 million books into the homes of children around the world and her “Coat of Many Colors” will remain one of the most treasured stories of childhood resiliency. Thank you, Dolly. We will always love you. ❤️🦅
