This week, Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Vann represented Sleepy Hill Elementary at the district’s Leadership Academy, collaborating with fellow administrators and strengthening the skills that keep our school moving forward! Their dedication to learning, growing, and leading with excellence ensures our Explorers get the very best every day. 💛💙

School is out, but children in Polk County can receive free meals through the statewide Summer BreakSpot program.

Locations throughout Polk will be providing free breakfast and lunch to children 18 and under. Many sites have begun serving meals this week; make sure to visit summerbreakspot.org to find nearby locations and hours of operation.

IMPORTANT: Before you head out, check each site’s dates and hours of operation at summerbreakspot.org, not all locations have the same schedule. Please note that food must be consumed on site, take-home meals are not permitted.

We would like to wish good luck to Dr. Bonney as he moves on to different leadership opportunities and is moving on from SHES! With that being said, welcome to Sleepy Hill Elementary School Mrs. Vann!

The Sleepy Hill Elementary family is excited to welcome Mrs. Vann as our new Assistant Principal! We are thrilled to have her join our team and look forward to the leadership, dedication, and enthusiasm she will bring to our school community. We know that her commitment to supporting students, staff, and families will help make SHES an even more amazing place to learn and grow.

Please join us in giving Mrs. Vann a warm welcome as she begins this exciting new journey with us. We are happy to have her as part of the Sleepy Hill Elementary family and can't wait for all the great things ahead!

As we close the 2025–2026 school year, we want every Sleepy Hill Explorer to know how proud we are of you. This year, you learned, grew, overcame challenges, made new friends, and created memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for sharing your smiles, kindness, curiosity, and laughter with us each day. As you begin your next adventure, no matter where you will be next year, remember that you will always be an important part of the Sleepy Hill family. The videos have been posted but here are the pictures from our fifth grade clap out as well as fifth grade graduation!

During the ceremony our students that earned the highest AR points in the school received a trophy! We also had those that earned a 3, 4, or 5 on their FAST ELA, Math, and Science stand and be recognized!

We are beyond excited that Natasha was selected to receive a two year scholarship and Tyce received the four year scholarship from Polk State! We can’t wait to see where your future will take you!

The name of every student who had perfect attendance for the entire school year were placed into a drawing. One boy and one girl were selected to win a brand new bicycle! The winners were Wesley from fourth grade and Kellyonna from second grade! What an absolutely incredible accomplishment to not miss one day of school the entire 2025-2026 school year! Way to go! 👏🏼
