We are excited to announce that Joel Helm will be joining the LCS leadership team as our new Chief Development Officer!⁠
⁠
Joel is a Lakelander, an LCS parent, and a dedicated member of our school community. He and his family attend Trinity Presbyterian Church, and his wife, Melissa, serves as the Entrepreneurship teacher in our RISE Institute.⁠
⁠
For the past eight years, Joel has served as Senior Director of Development at Florida Polytechnic University, where he helped increase alumni engagement, cultivate new university partnerships, and lead capital campaigns that supported the growth of the institution. He brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and a deep commitment to the mission of Lakeland Christian School.⁠

We are excited to welcome Joel to this new role and look forward to the impact he will have on the future of LCS. The future is bright!

🎨 Our Middle School Art Camp was such a fun week! ⁠

Students put their creativity to work on a variety of projects, exploring new techniques and bringing their ideas to life along the way. We loved seeing their imagination and artistic skills on display, and they should be so proud of everything they created!

Our campers had the opportunity to learn about a variety of animals, ask questions, and even get up close with some of them. It was a fun and memorable experience that combined hands-on learning with plenty of excitement!

Introducing one of our new faculty members for the 2026/27 school year, Elizabeth Patton! 🌟⁠

Mrs. Patton will be teaching 4th grade math this fall, and we are excited to welcome her to the classroom at LCS. She brings years of experience teaching elementary math in both public and private school settings, along with a unique background that includes two years on a Broadway National Tour where, yes, child actors still had to learn math! ⁠
⁠
Mrs. Patton has already been part of the LCS family for the past six years as both a parent and substitute teacher. She is a mother of three girls and “Gammy” to one granddaughter. Outside of school, you can find her watching SEC football, caddying for her daughter on the golf course, or enjoying a musical.⁠

We are excited for the impact she will make in 4th grade this year!

Our final Elementary Chapel of the year was such a special time together!⁠

Throughout the morning, our fine arts students were able to showcase their talents, our yearbook team revealed this year’s elementary yearbook cover, and the Vicky Dawson PE Award was presented. We also had the opportunity to dedicate the elementary yearbook to two beloved fourth grade teachers, Mrs. Stump and Mrs. Burnette, as they prepare for retirement this year.⁠

We are incredibly thankful for their years of service, love, and dedication to LCS and the countless students they have impacted along the way. 💙

At the end of each school year, our faculty and staff gather to celebrate the incredible people who make Lakeland Christian School such a special place. During our annual Faculty & Staff Luncheon, we recognize years of faithful service, honor those reaching milestone anniversaries, and celebrate the retirees whose impact will continue to be felt for years to come.

We are deeply grateful for every faculty and staff member who invests their time, talents, and hearts into our students each day. Thank you for your dedication to the LCS mission and for helping make our school community what it is. ❤️

Our middle school students ended the year with a bang with a water balloon fight, nacho bar, and lots of fun together as they celebrated the end of another great school year. ⁠

We love creating moments where students can make memories, enjoy time with friends, and just have fun together! Have a great summer, Vikings!
