Mocs Alumni Learning Spaces

Meet Karlie Heaberlin, ’26, a recent Florida Southern College graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Karlie is beginning her teaching career at Wendell Watson Elementary, right here in Lakeland, where she is teaching second grade for the 2026–2027 school year.

We love seeing our newest Mocs step into their own classrooms and put their FSC preparation into action. Karlie is just beginning her journey as an educator, and we can’t wait to see the impact she makes on her second graders!

Mocs Alumni Learning Spaces

We’re heading to Cartersville, Georgia, for our next Mocs Alumni Learning Spaces spotlight!

Meet Kristina Summers (Dignam), ’17, a Florida Southern College graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Kristina is beginning the 2026–2027 school year as a first-grade teacher at Hamilton Crossing Elementary.

From FSC to a first-grade classroom in Georgia, Kristina is continuing to make a difference in the lives of young learners. We love seeing our Mocs taking what they learned at FSC and creating engaging learning spaces for students near and far!
