This past Saturday was an incredible day of service! To the school families, teachers, and supporters of our school (including my family), thank you! Together, from 9-3, our group of 26 people assembled 12 teacher stations, 30 tables, and 44 shelves!!! We repaired 6 light fixtures. We unpacked new library books and organized boxes. We moved 3 pallets of furniture to the moving pod, packed up the library, and we began to see the organization of the gym. It was beautiful. Thank you to the volunteers from Chair The Love, for driving all the way from Orlando to help and to my sister Kim Hardgrove, hubbie Phil and bestie Debbie Tight, for driving from Palm Harbor to help. Powerhouse Aimee Porras and family built an entire pallet of shelves while simultaneously teaching her daughter to use power tools! A new toddler family joined us, and Braden Mack brought a friend from his community to help! Tasha Talesnick Keppler, Ben and Skylar showed up like they always do! Kim Rauck came by with her daughter to help organize the lower elementary classrooms and distribute new curriculum, and Maria Travis came in to set up her new classroom and unpack beautiful new materials!
Thank you all! I will be here the next two Saturdays from 9-3, making sure we have our spaces ready for the new year!!! Please come out! You can come out for an hour in the morning and w**d our gardens, or spend the day helping us… even a little bit of help makes a big difference when there’s lots of hands.
