Last week, Mrs. Wiedenman and Mr. Thomas attended the PCPS Leadership Academy, where they collaborated with fellow administrators from across the district and planned for the 2026–2027 school year.

🥳We celebrated our amazing 5th graders as they marked an important milestone—their promotion to middle school!

We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished during their elementary school years. Their hard work, perseverance, leadership, and growth have prepared them for the exciting journey ahead. 💫

🌟A special congratulations goes to Leo and Yanira, two outstanding students who received the prestigious Fancelli Award. This remarkable honor includes a college scholarship that will be awarded upon their high school graduation, recognizing their academic promise, character, and dedication to excellence.

We congratulate all of our 5th graders and wish them continued success as they begin this next chapter. Middle school, here they come! 🚀

After seven years of dedicated service, help us celebrate our amazing Assistant Principal, Mrs. Amy Bermudez.

Her leadership and commitment to our students, staff, and families have made a lasting impact on our school community. Thank you for the countless ways of support, encouragement, and inspiration in our school community each day.

While we are sad to see her move on, we are grateful for the memories, relationships, and positive difference she has made at OJP. We wish her continued success in her administrative journey.

Students may bring lunchboxes and/or a small purse to school this week.

Backpacks are not permitted.

Beginning Tuesday, May 26, no backpacks will be allowed at all PCPS school sites for the remainder of the current school year.

This applies to all PCPS school sites beginning Tuesday, May 26, through Thursday, May 28 — the last day of school.

Students may carry bags no larger than a small purse. Lunchboxes will still be permitted.

This is simply a precautionary measure. It is not uncommon for schools to implement such a security change during the final days of the school year, when it is no longer necessary for students to carry backpacks or large purses.

If you feel that your child needs accommodations regarding this change, please contact your school’s administration.
