Three Missions. One Team. Countless Animals Helped.
This weekend, Florida SARC responders were hard at work across Florida supporting animals, shelters, and communities.
🐾 In Citrus County Animal Services, our team assisted staff caring for animals involved in a large cruelty case, helping provide daily care and support so local resources could remain focused on the ongoing response.

🐱 At SPCA Florida, Florida SARC responders supported isolation care operations, helping ensure animals received the attention and care they needed.

πŸŒͺ️ In St. Pete Beach, our volunteers spent the day at the Hurricane Preparedness Expo, planting the seeds of preparedness by helping pet owners understand how to include their animals in emergency plans before disaster strikes.

Whether caring for animals, supporting shelter operations, or educating the public, our volunteers continue to demonstrate what service, compassion, and preparedness look like in action.

To every Florida SARC responder who gave their time this weekendβ€”thank you. Your dedication allows us to be there when animals and communities need us most.
More trained responders means more animals saved.

92 animals neglected, buried horse found in shallow grave leads to woman's arrest: Sheriff 06/05/2026

🐾 Florida SARC Responders Deploying to Support Citrus County 🐾

This weekend, members of the SPCA Florida's Florida State Animal Response Coalition (FL SARC) will be deploying to Citrus County Florida to support Citrus County Animal Services following a large-scale animal cruelty investigation involving 92 animals. Authorities reported the seizure of horses, goats, sheep, dogs, cats, birds, poultry, and other animals that now require ongoing care and shelter support.

Our responders will be providing staff augmentation to the shelter team, helping with daily animal care tasks including feeding, watering, cleaning, enrichment, and general shelter support. By assisting with shelter operations, we help free up the animal services personnel to continue managing the ongoing needs of this complex case.

We are proud to stand alongside our partners in Citrus County and support the dedicated staff and volunteers working to ensure these animals receive the care they deserve.

πŸ’™ Please keep the animals, shelter staff, animal control officers, and responders in your thoughts as this work begins.
