GAS STATION AWARENESS This is a location where you must pay attention all around you in a complete 360. There is no hard fast rule when it comes to gas stations. Every location has a different layout with different obstacles. The best advice I have is to keep your head on a swivel. Look for the things that do not fit. Does attire match the weather? Does an individual appear to be walking with purpose? Is someone “target locking”? Does their chosen path of travel make sense? Make eye contact. Let them know you see them, can ID them, and will not be caught off guard. You will also be able to read their body language to determine threat level. Humans are creatures of habit. You have been developing your keen observations skills since birth. Do not try to rationalize odd behavior. Be prepared for the worst acts and be pleasantly surprised with the best. Wear a smile on your face while you calculate how to destroy someone who tries to hurt you. Never live paranoid or in fear.
