I'm really loving this Red LetterLiving. Notice, our hunger to learn and connect to Spirit is also Spirit hungering for us

This week I combined the next 2 Beatitudes. The section on the same page as the Red Letter Living picture is from Blessed Are Those Who Mourn. That will stay on that page because I feel like that is important to us putting off the old self and transforming into the new.
I did find some interesting things from The Center For Action and Contemplation this time. The last 2 pgs are from the Unity website I've been using

Here's are some midweek thoughts on a video I listened to this week by Richard Rohr. Comment and let me know what you think

In most Western Christian teachings they don't teach meditation like in eastern religions, even though the Bible says to go into a quiet place to pray, and be still and know that I am God. Here's one Christian organization that teaches meditation and that method

The method of Centering Prayer
The integrity of the teaching of the method of Centering Prayer is contained in the Four Guidelines and their conceptual background as described in the Method of Centering Prayer brochure.
Additional practices offered by Contemplative Outreach are skillful means to bring the fruits of Centering Prayer into daily life, but are not part of the integrity of the teaching of the method. Similarly, resources such as books, videos, and articles are not part of the integrity of the teaching of the method, but provide vital support for the ongoing practice of Centering Prayer.

Four Guidelines for Centering Prayer practice….
🪬
1/ Choose a sacred word as the symbol of your intention to consent to God’s presence and action within.
🙏🏾
2/ Sitting comfortably and with eyes closed, settle briefly and silently introduce the sacred word as the symbol of your consent to God’s presence and action within.
🍂
3/ When engaged with your *thoughts, return ever-so-gently to the sacred word.
*thoughts include body sensations, feelings, images, and reflections
⏸️
4/ At the end of the prayer period, remain in silence with eyes closed for a couple of minutes.
Our vision statements were meticulously curated and left as guidance for our organism by Thomas Keating. You can read the Theological Principles and Guidelines for Service at the Vision page via the About menu of our website.

Some midweek thoughts. What do you think of when you hear the word mystic? Fortune teller with a crystal ball or tarot cards? Because we hear the word mysticism associated with those practices. Maybe even a prophet in the bible or even modern day? Well, here's a really short video explaining that we are considered mystics because we search for the divine, and get inspiration from Spirit

I am reading this book by Cynthia Bourgeault. She is involved with the Center For Action and Contemplation. It just so happens I just got to the Beatitudes section of the book. Here is what she has to say

The Center For Action and Contemplation talks about Jesus's Sermon On The Mount is Jesus's most important foundational teaching, yet the protestant church has mainly disregarded how the Beatitudes help us to understand our connection to Spirit (Christ consciousness.) I couldn't find any details written on their website, but I did find it explained on unity.org (a church Andrea and I have gone to) The explanation of the Sermon On the Mount is actually eye opening. It not what we're taught in Sunday School or in movies
