Hello everyone! I hope everyone made it through the storms ok! I will be reaching out to students individually when I get home, but the studio will be closed until I can get back and assess the electricity situation. Also, I know some of you are probably still dealing with clean up and possibly stuck in your communities from debris. Please let me know if you can whether or not you can attend lessons next week if we are able to reopen. If you can't reach out due to dead cell phones, much grace will be given. Don't stress. I had a proud teacher moment yesterday at First Presbyterian in Lakeland. My student Ethan gave a piano concert after graduating from Harrison School for the Arts, and did an excellent job putting together some really difficult rep. It takes a village, and I was proud to share in his musical development with the likes of Patrick Fleitz , his wonderful piano instructor at Harrison (left), organ teacher Tom Ingui from First Pres (right), and jazz piano teacher Jeffrey Benatar from Florida Southern College (watching live online). Also, a shout out to his mom for getting him started!
I'm so proud of Ethan for the work he's done, especially in the past year. He really picked up a solid work ethic and appreciation for, and giving priority to, time spent on specific, efficient practice. His consistency has led to some really enjoyable exploration of more advanced repertoire. Wishing him all the best as he moves on to the University of Florida for piano performance in the Fall!

I'm so proud of my student Addison! She earned a silver medal at her piano competition today playing Kuhlau's Sonatina in C, Op. 20 No. 1. When I say she earned it, I mean it. She worked hard on this piece, and I'm so proud of her and how much she's grown over the last year in her musicianship. Congratulations, Addison!

I think this is one of my favorite parent interactions to date! ❤️ Their daughter has been putting some really good work into her practicing and improving her technique. I'm proud of her progress, and happy to hear this feedback from home! But seriously... What are the chances of getting almost identical messages at the same time from two people in different rooms? 🤯
