Last Wednesday, our incoming 6th graders got their first taste of KPMS at Cougar 101! From practicing locker combos to talking through middle school expectations and setting goals for the year ahead, it was a morning full of new friendships, laughs, and confidence-building.
We loved welcoming our newest Cougars and helping them feel right at home before the first bell even rings. Can't wait to see them walk through our doors this fall!

Don’t forget! Peninsula School District will be closed on Friday, June 19, in honor of Juneteenth.

We are thrilled to announce that the 2026–2027 KPMS Advanced Band has been invited to perform at the prestigious Washington Music Educators Association (WMEA) Conference in Yakima, Washington, in 2027!
This extraordinary honor is a testament to the talent, dedication, and hard work of our student musicians and their director, Ms. Kaal. Their commitment to excellence has earned them the opportunity to showcase their musical achievements on one of the state's most respected stages for music education.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our administrators for their unwavering support of the KPMS music program. Their leadership, encouragement, and belief in the value of arts education have helped create an environment where our students can thrive, grow, and achieve at the highest levels.
This is a remarkable accomplishment for our school community and a historic milestone for Peninsula School District, as KPMS will be the first middle school in the district's history to perform at the WMEA Conference.
Congratulations to our incredible band students, Ms. Kaal, and everyone who has helped make this achievement possible. We are so proud of you!

🎈🚀 Rocket Balloon Challenge! 🚀🎈
Our KPMS scientists put Newton's Laws of Motion to the test during the Rocket Balloon Challenge! Students worked together to design, predict, and observe how air pressure creates thrust, sending their balloon rockets zooming across the room.
Hands-on learning like this helps bring science concepts to life while encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, and a little friendly competition. It was exciting to see students testing their ideas, making adjustments, and celebrating their successes along the way!

Happy Juneteenth! Peninsula School District recognizes June 19th as the day that marks the end of slavery in the United States. We honor this day in 1865 when news of emancipation finally reached Galveston, Texas. Let's use today to learn, reflect, and celebrate freedom together.

🥙👩‍🍳 KPMS Cooking Crew: Homemade Hummus! 👨‍🍳🥙
Our KPMS Cooking Crew took a culinary adventure by making homemade hummus! Students gathered virtually to follow the recipe step-by-step, measuring ingredients, blending flavors, and learning kitchen skills along the way.
From chickpeas and olive oil to seasonings and spices, our young chefs discovered how simple ingredients can come together to create a delicious and healthy snack. Most importantly, they built confidence in the kitchen while having fun with friends and family.
We love seeing our Cougars try new foods, develop life skills, and share their creations with one another. Great job, Cooking Crew! ❤️🩶
