Jamilla DeVille has passed away. Jamilla was one of the original contributors to pole as we know it today.

“Jamilla has been regarded as one of the very best in the US and globally. Her achievements as a competitive athlete in Miss Pole Dance Australia, as an instructor via her touring specialty workshops and classes in residence at Shine Fitness, her award-winning DVD series The Art of Pole and many appearances as judge and feature performer at our biggest pole industry events, including Pole Convention and Pole Expo, made her one of the best known and highest esteemed names in the business.”

Jamilla was one of the original “Pole Moms” of Vertica Founder Katrina. So much of what exists through Vertica today is a direct reflection of Jamilla’s influence.

Right before Jamilla was diagnosed with cancer, she had agreed to become an Official Brand Choreographer for Vertica.

Today we honor her and all her contributions. Thank you, Jamilla. You will be missed. May you rest in peace.
