Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer! 🌻
I recently had the opportunity to spend my summer vacation in Punjab, and I’m sharing a few pictures from the journey.

One of the most beautiful parts of the trip was visiting historical Gurudwaras (Sikh places of worship). Every visit was a reminder of how rich and deeply rooted Sikh history, tradition, and values are.

There is something incredibly peaceful about being in a Gurudwara- listening to Gurbani (Sikh sacred hymns) being sung, feeling the calmness around the holy Sarovar (sacred pool), and witnessing the innocence, faith, and trust of people who come seeking peace and healing through Gurbani.

And then there is Langar (a free community meal), one of the most beautiful expressions of Sikh tradition. Everyone is welcome, everyone sits together, and no one leaves hungry. It is a simple yet powerful reminder of equality, humility, generosity, and community.

From community kitchens to medical clinics and other forms of support, Gurudwaras have continued to play an important role in caring for the community.

I loved being surrounded by the Punjabi language and culture, the fragrance of the soil, historic walls, and the places connected to the lives and journeys of the Sikh Gurus. There is something truly special about returning to your roots, those vibes, blessings and being reminded of the history, resilience, traditions, and values that have been carried forward through generations.
I came back feeling grateful and connected to something much bigger than myself.

Sharing a few moments from the trip. 🙏
Wishing everyone a beautiful rest of the summer!

Our founder had a great time presenting the Sikhs in Clinical Research poster at Northwestern Medicine’s Center for Community Health Annual Community-Engaged Research Conference!

She enjoyed sharing our work focused on increasing disease awareness, health and research literacy, and clinical trial education, while promoting health screenings, conducting patient interviews, and cultural competency initiatives that help build trust and improve patient outcomes.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more, ask questions, and share ideas.

had the wonderful opportunity to present at the American Society for Pain Management Nursing () educational event on breaking the silence around pain and engage in discussions about the cultural beliefs and perceptions that often prevent many communities from talking openly about pain. When pain is left unmanaged, it can lead to disability, reduced mobility, and a significant decline in quality of life.

During her presentation, she shared case examples from the community that illustrated how many individuals have lived with pain for years, hoping one day it would go away. We discussed the importance of encouraging early screening, promoting healthy lifestyles, and empowering people to seek timely care. We also discussed the need for culturally relevant educational materials, compassionate care, and more community events and educational seminars focused on pain awareness.

A heartfelt thank you to Navneet Strickland DNP, FNP-BC, AP-PMN, ONC for hosting this important session and inviting us to speak. Thank you as well to all the nurses who attended and asked thoughtful questions. We truly enjoyed the opportunity to connect with all of you and look forward to meeting again soon with more resources and new discussions.

Had a great meetup and networking session, thank you to everyone who joined us! It was inspiring to see career discussions and conversations around growth, mentorship, and opportunities in clinical research.

We were especially excited to meet so many medical students eager to gain research experience and learn how to get started. Glad we could share free training resources to help support their journey into research.

One of the most impactful parts of the event was hearing from our presenter, Amandeep, who shared his experience working with almost 50+ Sikh/Punjabi patients enrolled in cancer trials. It was fascinating to hear firsthand about these many Sikh/Punjabi patients all at once enrolling in clinical trials, language accessibility, and cultural understanding in research setting. These are conversations that truly matter, and we look forward to documenting and sharing these experiences soon.

Looking forward to many more conversations like these as we continue building connections, expanding our network, and creating spaces where everyone can come together, learn from each other, and grow together.
