A magnitude-7.0 earthquake that struck Haiti on the afternoon of January 12, 2010, was one more disaster in a country that had suffered from decades of political, economic, and social setbacks and inequalities.
Although there has been progress to some extent, issues faced prior to the earthquake persist today. We have a calling as human being to exude compassion towards the less fortunate. Compassion gives us the ability to understand someone else's situation and the desire to act to improve their lives. Most importantly, we must protect the children, who have inalienable rights and should be loved, should be taken care of physically and mentally, and should not be brought into the world only to suffer.
Please join La Respectable Loge L’unite des Freres #7 in our March 2020 scheduled visit to Haiti in continuing the humanitarian effort in supporting; families, children and communities that have long been forgotten.
