On October 3, 2025, we celebrated a memorable occasion — the graduation ceremony for the Cosmetology, Facial, and Nail students, held at the Duncan Theater at 4:00 p.m.
We were honored by the presence of Dr. Roger Yohe, Dr. Peter Barbatis (Vice President), Associate Dean Eligio Márquez Veray, and Program Director Alicia Constantine Talley. It was a truly unforgettable and moving event.
The students expressed their gratitude and pride upon completing their training hours. Many of them balance their studies with work and family responsibilities, making this achievement even more meaningful.
A total of 100 students successfully reached their goal of graduation — a reflection of their dedication, effort, and perseverance. The Trade & Industry Department continues to prepare students to perform professionally and with excellence in their respective fields.
We extend our sincere appreciation to all the instructors who contributed to this accomplishment, and a special thanks to Alicia Constantine Talley, Program Director, for her leadership and commitment to student success.
We also give special thanks to those who made this event even more inspiring and memorable — Ms. Sarah Pernice and Ms. Heather Infantino, who shared their valuable industry experience, and to Ms. Polora Myrick, whose beautiful performance filled the ceremony with joy and emotion.

Junior Achievement is proud to collaborate with various high schools in our community, including Santa Luces School, Wellington School, and Forest Hill School. Through our outreach programs, we aim to inspire and prepare students for success in a global economy by providing valuable lessons in financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship.
Today, January 30, we received Junior Achievement at Palm Beach State College. All the students were enthusiastic to receive information, and we had a large turnout in the lobby. Two of our Program Directors, Carmen Modock and Doreen Singer, participated in providing information about Trade and Industrial programs. Additionally, representatives from other institutions, including universities, colleges, and some local employers, were present to offer insights and opportunities.
We are excited to continue our partnership with these schools and look forward to more successful events that empower our youth and build a brighter future.

Today marked two significant graduation ceremonies. The first was for the Low Voltage Technician Career Certificate Program. After completing an intensive 750-hour curriculum, the students are now fully prepared to begin work in their Trade. The program was led by instructor Nahdi Borghol. The ceremony was a memorable event, filled with pride and excitement.
The second ceremony was for the Residential and Commercial Electrician Career Certificate Program, led by instructor Daniel Neff. This program consisted of an intensive 1200-hour curriculum. Graduates received their certificates and a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication. Alan Mullenax served as the Program Director for both programs. Both ceremonies were attended by Dean Kimberly Lea and Associate Dean Eligio Marquez Veray.
Congratulations to all the graduates on their remarkable achievement! As proud members of the Palm Beach State College Trade & Industry Alumni, they have received unwavering support from PBSC T & I, which has helped them excel in their fields. The college has also provided scholarships to those who qualified. The dedication of each student is commendable, especially as many balanced work and study. Impressively, over 80% of these graduates have already secured jobs in their respective fields. We wish them continued success in their future endeavors.

On October 31, 2024, we recently celebrated Hispanic Day with our HVAC students from both the morning and afternoon classes. This special event featured a delightful array of dishes representing the diverse cultures and countries of our students. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together, share, and enjoy this vibrant moment.
We were honored to have the support of Associate Dean Eligio Marquez Veray, who attended the event. Additionally, Professor Manuel Villanueva, the dedicated instructor of this program, was there to encourage and motivate our students. We also invited students from other trade programs to participate, fostering a sense of community and collaboration across different disciplines.
This celebration was more than just a class activity; it was about building a family within our program. Our students not only learned valuable skills but also integrated and found motivation to pursue their studies in a supportive and inclusive environment.
