A Pastor who cares about discipleship is a joy to serve under! We are grateful for our Senior Pastor who doesn’t just talk about discipleship but makes time each week to teach our students. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 11:14 “For lack of guidance a nation falls,but victory is won through many advisers.” At EMC we aim to surround our students with wise counsel, from our pastoral staff, to our mentors, to our extended PFDC network. The first to volunteer time, is always our Senior Pastor and we are grateful for it!

Servanthood is a core value at EMC. As we are all called to make disciples, we aim to challenge our students to serve the next generation and in the process create relationships that can generate discipleship opportunities. Students serve on Wednesday nights from nursery through senior high, engaging with those younger than them and learning to teach and lead. While caring for the kids, they get to learn alongside our amazing pastoral staff and leadership team. This is what discipleship looks like!

Where are you hiding? Where do you go for sanctuary? What is your safe place?

In the Bible we see two men of God running for their lives, one - David runs to the tabernacle, the house of God for sanctuary, the other Elijah, runs to the wilderness for sanctuary. God asks Elijah ,”Why are you here?” But He doesn’t ask David the same question because he was already in the house of the Lord.

God longs to be the one we run to. ♥️
