Story time:
Most people think fighting is about punches.
It is, but…
It’s also about rhythm.
Same combo.
Jab. Cross. Hook. Round kick.
Change the rhythm and suddenly it’s a completely different fighter.
Turns out life works the same way.
Everyone thinks they need to be the sun.
Bright. Loud. Important.
But the older you get the more you realize the world is held together by moons.
Quiet people doing the work.
Reflecting the light.
Keeping the system balanced.
Your family.
Your friends.
Your gym.
Your life.
Nine rhythms.
Same movement.
Different perspective.
Most people never notice.
They spend their whole life trying to outshine someone who was just trying to keep them warm.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is slow down, show up, and learn the rhythm.
Not a king.
A steward.

Our gym is built around the idea that martial arts should be both deeply technical and sustainable for the long term. We teach Muay Thai, Gi Jiu Jitsu, and No-Gi Jiu Jitsu as parts of a unified system—preserving the details and discipline of traditional martial arts while integrating modern techniques and training methods that keep athletes effective in today’s competitive and real-world environments.
Striking is rooted in classical Muay Thai, enhanced by Kyokushin and MMA influences to include side kicks, crescent kicks, and controlled spinning techniques. Grappling blends traditional Jiu Jitsu fundamentals with modern No-Gi systems and high-level wrestling principles, developing athletes who are comfortable standing, scrambling, and controlling positions on the ground. Across all programs, training is balanced to stay realistic yet controlled, allowing students to sharpen timing, composure, and decision-making without unnecessary damage.
Classes are structured with intention—building skills progressively through focused warm-ups, technical instruction, situational training, and controlled live work. Open mats are a cornerstone of the gym, offering multiple weekly sessions to refine skills in striking, grappling, or MMA, train functional strength, or simply be part of the environment. Just as important, we cultivate a strong sense of community—sharing meals made from farm-sourced ingredients, traditional family dishes, and local food—creating a space that feels less like a gym and more like a supportive, driven family.
Whether your goal is competition, self-defense, fitness, or lifelong practice, our gym is designed to develop well-rounded martial artists and support a true martial arts lifestyle built on consistency, respect, and growth
Had a great weekend at grappling industries, Chicago. Everyone really showed up for the moment. The technique was clean and it was great to have to whole team there for support. Mostly victory and a few defeats, but everyone carried themselves with respect and the desire to learn and make the necessary adjustments for next time. Could not ask for a better group of people to share a Saturday strangling people with. Thank you for all the support. Great job and look forward to many great things to come…. Including food!

THE GEOMETRY OF COMBAT
In fighting, patterns emerge—rhythms, tendencies, archetypes. What if you could understand them not just as moves… but as elements?
In this system, each fighter expresses a Platonic ideal:
• Air (Octahedron): Elusive movement. Distance management. Timing over force.
• Fire (Tetrahedron): Controlled aggression. Sharp bursts. Blitz in, reset out.
• Earth (Cube): Positional dominance. Stability. Pressure. Break the will.
• Water (Icosahedron): Adaptation. Counter-fighting. Absorb and redirect.
• Ether (Dodecahedron): Unpredictable. Creative. Break the pattern.
• Sphere: Calm under chaos. The mind before the move.
• Torus: Integration. Flow state. Seamless transitions.
Each has a balanced form, an excess (overused), and a deficiency (ignored). Great fighters don’t cling to one—they flow between all.
Understand your geometry. Balance the elements.
Then you don’t just fight…
You express a complete system.

🧠 Control your mind, control the fight
I’ve spent years studying how emotion, memory, and identity are structured. What’s become clear to me is… they are exactly that: structured.
What surprised me was realizing that ancient cultures already knew this.
The Platonic solids — used in sacred architecture, healing, and cosmology across Egypt, Greece, Vedic India, and beyond — aren’t just mathematical curiosities. They mirror human emotion and consciousness on a deep level.
Each shape represents a core emotional archetype:
🔁 Torus – Infinity- Transcendence
⚪ Sphere – Void- Peace
🔷 Octahedron – Air- Freedom
🔺 Tetrahedron – Fire- Passion
⏹️ Cube – Earth-Stability
💧 Icosahedron – Water - Empathy
🌌 Dodecahedron – Ether - Awe
Balanced, these states create coherence in the brain and body.
But too much or too little of each leads to predictable dysfunction:
burnout, anxiety, apathy, rigidity, delusion.
This isn’t New Age. It’s neurostructural.
And it’s ancient. We’re just beginning to rediscover what initiates, monks, and polymaths like Walter Russell and Buckminster Fuller intuited all along.
Emotion is not chaos. It’s geometry.
If you’re a coach, therapist, teacher, or builder of people — this model can change everything.
DM me if you want to integrate it into practice.

We’re buzzing with excitement about this week’s farmstand offerings at Tempel Farms Organics. The crew has been hard at work—seeding, weeding, and harvesting to bring you the freshest, most flavorful produce around.
New this week: fragrant green garlic, crisp fennel, and tender endive—perfect for adding a fresh twist to your meals.
And starting Friday, we’ll have the first of the season’s strawberries and rhubarb from our friends at Mick Klug Farm in Michigan—just in time for weekend baking or snacking.
Our farmstand will be open Thursday through Sunday, so swing by, stock up, and say hello. And don’t forget—it’s the final week of our plant sale. We’re offering 50% off our last tomato flats.
