Congratulations to senior Ethan Kiley who recently gave his commitment to North Central College, where he will play both football and LAX.

Congrats to junior Ryan Selig who recently committed to Western Michigan, making him the 12th D1 player in program history.

Lakes' Selig selects football at Western Michigan -- as a starting point Two-sport standout Ryan Selig of Lakes has committed to a football future at Western Michigan, and he isn't ruling out continuing to play baseball for the Broncos.

Congratulations to senior Jack Christensen who will be attending Georgia Tech where he'll be studying in the number two mechanical engineering program in the U.S.

Christensen, who also excels at basketball and baseball, was named Academic All-State, 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-Area, Academic All-Conference (2x), an Illinois State Scholar, and he is a member of National Honor Society.

Congrats to senior Conner Chamernik who will be attending UW Madison to study mechanical engineering. One of the most dedicated both in and out of the classroom, Chamernik is a 4x orange shirt recipient, 2x Academic All-Conference honoree, a member of National Honor Society, and an Illinois State Scholar.

Congrats to junior Kole Skinner who was voted Lifter of the Month for February

Congrats to senior Alek Nikitow who will attend Truman State University. Nikitow won both the TruMerit & President's Honorary Scholarship, and he plans to major in Exercise Science (Pre-physical Therapy).

Congrats to junior Ryan Selig who recently added another scholarship offer from Western Michigan!

Junior Ryan Selig visited Illinois State this past weekend and returned home with a scholarship offer from the Redbirds!

Congrats to senior Jack Christensen who was named to the IHSA All-State Academic Team. Jack is one of only 50 student-athletes from the state of Illinois to receive this honor, and he is the sole representative from the NLCC for 2016-2017 school year!

IHSA Assistant Executive Director Stacey Lambert announced the members of the 2017 IHSA All-State Academic Team on Monday, February 14, 2017. "This group is the best of the best,” said Lambert. “They embody the IHSA’s mission, excelling in the classroom, in addition to the multiple sports and activities that they participate in. It really is an accomplishment just to be nominated for this award, and I hope the schools and communities that had winners are as proud of this accomplishment as we are to have these young people represent the IHSA.”

Nominees needed to possess a minimum 3.50 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, have participated in at least two IHSA sponsored activities during each of the last two years of high school and demonstrated outstanding citizenship.

Christensen is the 2nd football player (Mike Beckman, 2011) to earn this prestigious recognition.
