This session will cover how the brain develops, what it means when someone 'flips their lid', and how to respond with compassion. SEL Integrations proudly presented at the inaugural Lake County FeBRRuary Institute Day and it was a fabulous event! We loved spending the day with middle and high school educators, exploring how traumatic events reshape the brain and how as educators we can shift the lens through which we view students and behavior to form more caring connections. Cheers to 2024 and a fresh beginning! We spent a wonderful day with Metamora Grade School staff talking about how to use our trauma lens and connect with students more deeply. The first day back from a break is often stressful for staff, as relaxing days drift away and overwhelm about to-do lists kicks in. However, by the end of our session staff were laughing and feeling inspired to try new SEL practices with their students the very next day! If you are an educator or administrator and are looking for ways to feel more joy and connection, we’ve got you covered! SEL Integrations is back and kicking off our third year with gusto!!! We’ve spent the last few months working on some very special projects: the second annual summer SEL Team Retreat with the wonderful educators in Metamora, the launching of the middle school SEL Committee involving the dedicated peeps in , and a district-wide trauma PD with the friendly staff in Steger D194 🎉❤️ We are blessed and grateful to partner with districts to create meaningful work that helps their school communities heal & grow, and look forward to what this year will bring!
