Proud partner of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library since 2008, LSEF was so honored to attend the Imagination Library of Washington celebration in 2023, where we, along with other Washington State program partners, were treated to an exclusive talk and mini concert by Dolly herself. A memory we will forever cherish and a promise we will continue to uphold. 📚🦋💔

We are so excited to announce that at our LSEF Board meeting this week, our members voted to INCREASE enrollment in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library from 1,200 children to 1,400! This will completely clear our current waiting list!

That’s 1,400 children aged 0-5 in the Lake Stevens School District receiving free books every month! 📚

This wouldn’t be possible without the new statewide support of this program AND donors like YOU, who help us cover the costs to make this program accessible to our community! THANK YOU!!!! 😊

We are so sad to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton. What a gift she was to this world and her presence will be deeply missed by every life that she touched.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

Global icon and humanitarian, Dolly Parton, known to the world as a beloved singer, songwriter, philanthropist, actress, playwright, and author died peacefully today in Nashville, Tennessee. She was 80 years old.

Dolly is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years Carl Thomas Dean (1942 – 2025), her mother Avie Lee Caroline Owens (1923 – 2003), and father, Robert Lee Parton, Sr. (1921 – 2000).

A rhinestone life that shone bright enough for the world to see, Dolly will forever stand as an inspiration not only through her timeless music and prolific songwriting, but also her wit, warmth, and kindness that made us all feel like family. Dolly Parton’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and resilience. With a seven-decade career, she inspired multiple generations of artists and fans with her music and an unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. Her songs will continue to resonate with people of all ages, and her philanthropic work will have a lasting impact.

At Dolly’s request, a small, private service will be held for immediate family. Dolly’s fans and friends from around the world are encouraged to pay tribute to Dolly on social media by tagging or by leaving a message at www.dollyparton.com

Whew! What a great time we had at the Lake Stevens Aquafest Children’s Parade and hope that you all did, too!

Special shout out to everyone who makes this event possible ~ thank you Chris Jacobson for announcing, thank you Sunnyside Preschool and Lakeside Books for sponsoring, thank you to Mikaila and Avy for singing the National Anthem, and THANK YOU to all to all of the families and groups who participated!

🌊☀️It’s Lake Stevens Aquafest time!☀️🌊

Aquafest is a ✨magical✨ summertime tradition for our whole community and we can’t wait to celebrate with you all weekend!

None of this would be possible without all of the incredible volunteers, donors, business supporters and countless others who so generously give so that this festival will be fun for EVERYONE!
