Today Meister Elementary was not just able to serve our local community but the hardworking men and women who are currently trying to restore the power in Viking Village. 💚👷🏼‍♀️👷‍♂️

We cannot be more excited for the families who live in the town to see work being completed to bring power back for their homes and especially to our school building.

Thank you to those who came out during our cookout events and as always, please don't hesitate to contact Principal Panthi or your child's teacher if there is anything you need.
Vikings will always strive to gather resources and bring aide to our school family! 💚

This is an important update regarding the start of the school year.

The first day of school for River Forest students will be Thursday, August 27.

We want to provide our families and staff with enough time to make the necessary arrangements and ensure that all of our buildings are fully operational before welcoming students back.

As of this message, River Forest’s Central Campus is the only campus with power fully restored. Meister and Evans are still without full electrical service.

We understand that these continued delays have been frustrating and disruptive for our families, students, and staff. We share that frustration. Our priority is making sure that when our students return, our schools are safe, ready, and able to provide the learning environment they deserve.

Setting Thursday as our return date gives everyone a clear plan and the time needed to prepare, even if power is restored sooner.

Faculty and staff will report to their buildings on Wednesday, August 26.

Middle and High School Back-to-School Night has been rescheduled for Thursday, September 3, from 5:00–6:30 p.m.

We sincerely appreciate the patience, flexibility, and support our River Forest community has shown throughout this situation. We cannot wait to have our students back in our buildings and finally begin the new school year together.
