The kiddos have been intrigued by the creepy crawly creatures we’ve been seeing outside so we turned learning about them into our theme for the week. We’ve been working on the letter B, numbers 1-3, our colors, the circle shape and how to draw it, as well as developing our fine motor skills.

We hunted for colored bugs and sorted them on our color mats. We practiced finger painting with control to make B’s and used safety scissors to hunt for hidden bugs in the grass. Each kiddo either traced or wrote the letter B depending on their own level. We used directional language and our pincher grip to create dropper butterflies which helps build those writing hand muscles. We even used giant bugs like the ones in our book of the week , “Giant Bugs!” to make an abstract painting. So much fun bugging around! 🐜🕷🐝🐞🦋
