Happy Friday everyone. We wanted to let you know that Internet and phones are down at school at the moment if any parents are trying to reach us. We're working on it!

Our hearts are broken over the loss of our dedicated bus driver and volunteer fireman.

To all:

It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news that our brother, Chief Woehrle, passed away yesterday while responding to his last alarm.

Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Additional information will be provided as soon as it is available.

Rest in Peace!

Each year, the Lake Pleasant Sacandaga Association sponsors an invasive species contest for the seventh and eighth grade students at Lake Pleasant Central School. With the help of Ms. Dana Ordway and Mr. Tyler Kline, students research invasive species threatening the Adirondack Park.

The idea is for students to become acquainted with the threat of invasive species to the local environment and how these might affect our lakes, our locally ecology, and ultimately the economics of our towns.

Four members of LPSA listened to the top six presentations as chosen by their teachers. Every year students outdo themselves with excellent research, a strong understanding of their topic, engaging props, and a superb use of technology.

This year’s award winners are:

1st place: Jacob Dorr

2nd place: Adeliz Ruiz

3rd place: Ella Baynard and Zane Martz

Honorable Mention: Haakon Towers and Benjamin Grier

The LPSA’s mission is to conserve and protect the purity of all the lakes in the Town of Lake Pleasant, protect the environment, and conserve the scenic and natural beauty of the area.
