Growing Evergreen began with listening.

As part of our strategic plan, we’re taking a close look at three areas central to the North Country School & Camp Treetops experience: outdoor experiences, environmental learning, and visual arts.

By listening to educators, counselors, students, campers, and alumni, we’re exploring how to strengthen these programs and deepen the connections between adventure, creativity, and our relationship with the natural world.

The goal? To honor what makes this place special while creating even more opportunities for children to explore, create, wonder, and grow.

Woods House has always been more than a building—it’s been a home.
For generations, Woods has been a place to live, learn, grow, and gather. Now, through Growing Evergreen, it’s entering a new chapter.

This spring, Woods was moved 200 feet to make room for expanded living space, new faculty housing, and a welcoming outdoor gathering area. Its former site will become a unified center for Hike House, Environmental Learning, and Visual Arts, creating new opportunities for exploration, creativity, and connection to the land.

As alum María Viniegra said, “Woods saw me grow up.” Now, we’re helping Woods grow into what comes next.

Friends' Weekend is here! We can’t wait to welcome friends from near and far back to campus.

RockE House is Available for Friends' Weekend!

Will you be joining us August 19–23? If you're planning to come with family or friends, now is the perfect time to reserve RockE House if you’ve been wondering what it would be like to wake up to the view of the mountains and Senior Camp from across Round Lake.

RockE House features nine bedrooms and sleeps up to 19 guests, making it the perfect home base for a weekend of reconnecting. Friends' Weekend is all about celebrating the NCS & Camp Treetops community with:

This week at NCS was one for the history books. As an unexpected power outage arrived just before graduation weekend, our community pulled together to show what it truly means to be rugged, resourceful, and resilient.

From a headlamp-lit performance of Twelfth Night to celebrating our end-of-year traditions and commemorating our seniors, everyone—from families, friends, students, and faculty—embraced the moment with creativity, flexibility, and joy.
