The tackle position in football is key to controlling the line of scrimmage, protecting the quarterback, stopping the running game and disrupting the opposing team's offensive plays. Lake Placid Green Dragon Roderio Lesane Filippeli is one of the tackles to make the Highlands News-Sun's Best of Highlands High School Sports All-County Football Team. Each year, the Highlands News-Sun has great joy in selecting the Best of Highlands County High School Sports teams and individuals. These athletes stood out among their peers. Today we introduce August Stivender as quarterback for the Football All County Team. A special section featuring all of the athletes honored as part of the Best of Highlands County High School Sports will publish in the Highlands News-Sun on June 24.
