We’re proud to finally share one of the largest and most unique projects to come through All Axis 3D Studios.

We recently had the opportunity to work with Carrier Global Corporation — the company founded by the inventor of modern air conditioning and today one of the world’s leaders in climate, cooling and energy technology.

Carrier entrusted us with producing 200 detailed scale models of one of its commercial chiller systems for a special company event.

Starting with CAD data, our job was to take a full-size piece of sophisticated industrial equipment and re-engineer it into a detailed, manufacturable scale model that could be 100% 3D printed, assembled and reproduced at production scale.

The result:

200 completed models.
6,000+ individually 3D-printed components.
Full assembly and quality control.
Custom protective packaging.
And the entire project completed ahead of schedule.

Carrier’s cooling technology serves some of the most demanding environments in the world, including the rapidly expanding data-center and AI-infrastructure industries, where thermal management is becoming increasingly critical.

That made this project especially exciting for us.

It brought together CAD engineering, design for additive manufacturing, high-volume 3D printing, production management, assembly, quality control and custom packaging — all under one roof.

A huge thank-you to Carrier Global Corporation for trusting All Axis 3D Studios with the project and allowing us to play a small role in representing such impressive technology.

Yesterday we shared a part that we were able to replicate — today, here’s a little more about how we did it and what made the process so straightforward.

When you can accurately capture the geometry of an existing part, the entire reverse-engineering process becomes faster, cleaner, and far more predictable.

From there, we can recreate the part digitally, make any necessary adjustments, and manufacture a replacement — even when the original part may be difficult or impossible to purchase anymore.

That’s one of the things we love about 3D design and additive manufacturing: sometimes you don’t need to reinvent anything.

You just need to accurately recreate what already works.

🐟 STONE FISH HEAD PROJECT — UPDATE

A few weeks ago, we shared the beginning of this project. Now the 3D design is complete—and what happens next is something we’ve never been a part of before.

Inspired by a sculptural feature from a château in France, this piece was completely recreated and developed as a 3D digital model by All Axis 3D Studios.

But this one isn’t being 3D printed full-size.

Our digital file will ultimately be used by a robotic CNC stone-carving system to sculpt the finished piece from a massive block of stone.

Think about what that means.

A custom statue. An architectural feature. A sculpture. A replica. An original idea that only exists in your imagination.

It can be designed digitally in 3D—and that digital model can become the foundation for manufacturing, machining, carving, fabrication, or 3D printing.

That’s what makes this project so exciting for us. 3D design isn’t limited to 3D printing. It’s the bridge between an idea and how that idea actually gets made.

Another example of what’s possible with 3D printing.

A local builder provided us with these trim designs, and we brought them to life as lightweight 3D-printed samples that can be mounted directly on the wall and displayed in their design center.

It’s a simple idea, but a great example of how 3D printing can turn existing designs into physical, presentation-ready pieces quickly and efficiently.
