The Merry Melody Music Studio offers private and group instruction in piano and voice, providing students with a personalized learning experience tailored to their unique learning style. Lessons at Merry Melody Music Studio include ear training, note reading and music preparation. Our students also have the opportunity to participate in music camps, composition classes, acting workshops and much more. 🎉 WOW—our homeschool music program is filling FAST! 🎶

We’ve had so much interest this fall that THREE classes are already full—and we’re opening a FOURTH class to help more families get off the waiting list!

If you’ve been hoping to join us, now is the time to grab one of these newly available spots!

Students ages 4–16 will:

🎹 Explore a variety of instruments
🥁 Experience hands-on music immersion
🎵 Build strong musical foundations

🎻 COME FIDDLE WITH US! 🎻

You’re invited to join Merry Melody Music Academy’s 2026 Annual Fiddling Workshop—a fun, beginner-friendly opportunity for children and adults ages 8 and up!

No previous experience is necessary. Over six weeks, students will learn the basics of fiddling, make music together, participate in jam sessions and prepare for a special performance at our Annual Family Barn Dance!

🗓 Six Sundays beginning September 13
⏰ 2:00–3:00 p.m.
📍 Merry Melody Music Academy in Lake Park
🎻 Bring your own violin or rent one from the Academy
💵 $150 for the full six-week workshop
📚 $25 book fee
🎉 Final performance at the Family Barn Dance on October 24!

Students must pre-register, and at least five participants must be enrolled by September 5 for the workshop to proceed.

Whether you’ve always wanted to try the fiddle or you’re ready to make music with a lively group, we would love to have you join us!

This fall, Merry Melody Acting is stepping back in time to the Golden Age of Radio! 📻✨

Students will spend the semester creating the Merry Melody Radio Revue—an old-fashioned, live radio show filled with comedy, mystery, music, singing, vintage commercials, character acting, and live Foley sound effects.

Rather than a traditional play, students will learn how radio actors once created entire worlds using their voices and imaginations. They’ll develop character voices, comic timing, microphone skills, sound effects, ensemble acting, and the confidence to perform for a live audience.

The semester will culminate in a ticketed, old-fashioned radio revue performed LIVE before a studio audience, complete with applause cues and all the fun of a real Golden Age broadcast!

🎭 No previous acting experience is necessary. This is a fantastic opportunity for students who love acting—as well as kids who have always wanted to try it but aren’t sure they’re ready for a traditional stage production.

Come make friends, build confidence, learn something completely different, and help us bring the magic of old-time radio back to life!

👶 Musical Munchkins introduces babies and toddlers to music, movement, rhythm and joyful connection.

🌈 Music Explorers Enrichment Program gives children ages 3–5 a nurturing, Montessori-inspired morning filled with music, art, movement, practical learning and hands-on discovery!

📚Homeschool Music class for ages 4-10 years in Detroit Lakes. Explore. Experience. Discover. Our music immersion program lets students explore different instruments, discover new sounds, and navigate their way toward the instrument they love most.

Music is more than just learning an instrument—it’s confidence, creativity, teamwork, and a skill that lasts a lifetime.

That’s why we’re so excited to introduce our NEW Music Enrichment Class!

In this one-of-a-kind weekly experience, students will:
🎵 Explore piano, guitar, voice, and drums
🎼 Learn the building blocks of music in a fun, hands-on way
🎤 Experience music through games, listening, performance, and creativity
🤝 Make new friends who share their interests

Whether your child has never played an instrument or is ready to discover a new musical passion, this class is designed to inspire, challenge, and encourage them in a welcoming environment.
