What an incredible way to Do What You Love to End ALZ!
Two of our Board Members, Alia and Robbie, recently hosted a Summer Lawn Party and raised more than $23,000! Alia honored her grandmother, Victoria Houlihan, and Robbie honored her mother, Patty McCord.
They brought friends together for an evening of food, w**e, and music while raising awareness and funds to support the work of the Alzheimer’s Association.

With a little planning, travel can still be meaningful and safe. Here are a few tips to help make your journey smoother:
✅ Stick to familiar destinations and routines
✅ Travel during the time of day your loved one feels best
✅ Pack a bag of essentials: medications, snacks, water, comfort items
✅ Inform hotel staff of any specific needs ahead of time
✅ Allow extra time for rest and avoid over-scheduling

Our Community Engagement Crew connected with more than 100 individuals and families, each with their own Alzheimer's story. These volunteers work year-round to ensure no one has to face this journey alone.

Some of the best partnerships start with a simple conversation. At a recent Roseburg Chamber of Commerce meeting, we connected with Danielle Wade of CHI Mercy Hospice, a dedicated Alzheimer's Association volunteer, and Kristi Grimm of Affordable At Home Care, who's exploring how she can get involved. Community partners like CHI Mercy Hospice and Affordable At Home Care are essential to reaching families in Douglas County who are navigating Alzheimer's and dementia.

While in Roseburg, we also visited a local landmark with a story worth sharing: a 126-year-old Elm tree standing watch over the Douglas County Veterans Memorial. Located on the grounds of the Douglas County Courthouse, this memorial is registered with the National Garden Clubs of America as a Gold Star Families and Blue Star site. Its plaques honor those from Douglas County who served in every conflict from WWI through OIF/OEF.

Roots run deep here, both in this historic tree and in the community's commitment to caring for one another. We're grateful for partners like Danielle and Kristi, and for the chance to grow our presence in Roseburg.
