Have you ever seen a Backyard Habitat certification sign in a neighbor's yard and wondered how they got it? Discover how to transform your outdoor space into a thriving, low-maintenance, climate-resilient habitat for native bees, birds, and other wildlife on Sunday, August 16th at 2pm in the Library!
Amy Stout from Friends of Tryon Creek and the Backyard Habitat Certification Program will provide an introduction to native gardening and the components needed to turn your property into a sanctuary for wildlife and people alike.
Following Amy's presentation, you're invited to tour the Library's gold-certified Backyard Habitat! Volunteers and staff will be on hand to answer questions about the Backyard Habitat program, the Library's Backyard Habitat garden, native plants, and the LOPL Seed Library, which includes a native seed collection.
This program is open to seasoned gardeners and beginners alike. We hope to see you there!
