Bringing in the new year with new books, and rolling out our class “library cards” this week! 📚 This month we are learning about book care and how libraries work - and learning about each other’s interests: Dinosaurs, ocean animals, ABCs, and unicorns - there’s a book for that ✨

Gearing up for Bon Juju’s 2nd year in session! Our first year went better than I could have hoped for, with amazing families and children bringing so much energy and joy to our little community. I so value the relationships I developed with the kids last year, and the friendships they made with each other! Already looking forward to new and known friends in Fall 🍁🥰

Group hugs have become apart of the culture around here, with everyone being keyed in to each others feelings and noting when others are happy, sad, or excited. It’s awesome to see the kids social emotional development advance with such care intertwined 🌿🥰

It’s so rewarding to see the kids climb and explore where our “feet on the ground” rule does not apply 😎

.hearts.art (our special guest kindergartener) made us classroom chore visuals 🥰 This is a favorite part of the day where we all take responsibility in caring for our space. Chores instill a sense of responsibility, self-efficacy, and community 👍

Happy Friendsgiving Potluck 🧡 we spent this month doing little acts of kindness for each other, being gentle with our animals, and talking about what we are grateful for🌲

Show & Tell! We had books, stuffies, trucks, and art projects. It was special to tell each other about some of the things we are especially grateful for this month 😌

Children “are more likely to play in more sophisticated, advanced ways with fewer toys present,” and I keep our space fairly limited to open-ended toys and books/puzzles/art. In a world of constant stimulation - less toys encourages imagination & ingenuity. I love watching the children start off wandering around and slowly finding creative pursuits. Pictured: fresh from painting and off to the “little house” to make some dirt cookies 🍪🌲

Happiest Birthday to this sweet little one! He is quick to smile and jump into a game, always cares and comments when someone is upset, likes to be “up high!” and is overall a joyful part of our preschool. We are lucky to be apart of him growing up 🥳😌🌟
