What an amazing first two weeks of summer camp at Eagle Creek! ☀️

Our campers have been busy creating, exploring, and learning through hands-on fun — making playdough bugs and eyeball donuts, investigating germs, experimenting with bouncing eggs and edible sand, and problem-solving as they design, build, and test Egyptian chariot ramps and insulated shelters!

From STEAM activities and outdoor adventures to making new friends and reconnecting with old ones, it has already been a wonderful start to summer at Eagle Creek!

Our 4th-grade mathematicians became architects for the Dream Home Designers Project! 🏡📐

With a special challenge from architect Gregory Marinelli, students used real-world math and engineering skills to design dream homes for a family in need. They created scaled blueprints, applied geometry, calculated area and perimeter, built 3D models, and presented their designs like professional architects.

We are so proud of their creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and mathematical thinking!

Thank you to Oakland County Parks for visiting Eagle Creek Academy last Friday! Our students had so much fun enjoying the games, activities, and outdoor excitement. It was a wonderful way to get everyone moving, laughing, and working together. Such a fun treat as we head into the final weeks of the school year!

Over the past few weeks, our 3rd graders have been diving into an exciting Spiny Dogfish Shark project.

Students have been researching and writing informative five-paragraph essays, learning about shark anatomy, creating study diagrams, exploring different shark species, making wax resist shark paintings, and preparing for a shark dissection. They have also been reviewing their learning through a fun “Hungry Shark” game show activity.

At Eagle Creek Academy, hands-on projects help students connect science, writing, art, and critical thinking in meaningful ways.

Our second-grade Wax Museum was a wonderful showcase of learning, and our students were the stars.

Each student researched a famous person, wrote a five-paragraph essay, created a timeline, and memorized their speech. Their hard work truly showed as they confidently presented to fellow students and their families.

It was a meaningful learning experience that highlighted their growth, confidence, and creativity. We are so proud of them!

In celebration of Earth Day, our Kindergarten students rolled up their sleeves and headed outside to help care for our school grounds. From picking up litter to working together as a team, they showed that small actions can make a big difference. 💚

Great News! Eagle Creek Academy’s preschool program has earned the highest recognition level in Michigan’s Great Start to Quality system following a successful CLASS on-site observation.

Great Start’s scoring system, called CLASS, is a nationally recognized tool that measures the quality of interactions between teachers and children through on-site observations. Research shows that classrooms with higher CLASS scores support stronger academic, social, and emotional development.

We are incredibly proud of our preschool teachers for the dedication, professionalism, and care they share with your children day in and day out.

This weekend, a group of fifth graders participated in the Battle of the Books hosted by the Rochester Hills Public Library. To prepare, the students read 12 books and practiced identifying quotes, key lessons, titles, and authors. During the competition, they worked together to answer 50 trivia questions based on the books they had read.

We are incredibly proud of these students for their dedication, teamwork, and all the hard work they put into preparing for the competition. 📚👏

Our fourth- and fifth-grade students recently brought 2025 to life through an exciting, hands-on STEAM experience. After researching influential people, events, inventions, and scientific advancements using kid-friendly AI prompts, each student selected a topic for our 2025 Time Capsule.

Students designed parade-style floats for Sphero robots and created vibrant digital cityscapes inspired by James Rizzi, turning our coding course into a colorful robotic parade. Through block coding and collaboration, they explored angles, speed, timing, and distance, discovering real-world engineering challenges along the way.

The project culminated in a special presentation for our second-grade audience, showcasing creativity, critical thinking, and true STEAM learning at Eagle Creek!
