Dear Parents,

We are pleased and honored that parents consider Lakewood Public Schools as an educational choice for their students. Our community is proud of our facilities, high quality of service, staff, and the educational opportunities we provide for students. We have some of the best educational facilities in the area for our students to work in.

With the recent addition of the technology infrastructure in each building, the student use of technology will be an emphasis for our teachers. We are proud to be a part of a community that values education. The staff at Lakewood Public Schools works hard to provide individualized education programs that allow each student to excel. This, along with our dedicated teaching staff, challenging curriculum, and programs we position our students to accomplish our school vision; Preparing our students for success. We know well the trust that parents, students, and community members place in us. We do our very best to communicate with parents and families to nurture a strong school/home partnership. We value our school and broad community and work to keep the community informed of events and happenings of the school community. These are a few of the reasons to choose Lakewood Public Schools. Please explore our website and learn about us. Parents are welcome to contact the district to make arrangements for a tour or to visit any of our school programs. Together for Safety and Excellence,

Real-World Ready
Mrs. Forman’s Pathway to Leadership Students Partner Up to Unlock Essential Skills for Life

Mrs. Forman’s 8th grade Leadership students put their teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills to the test with the Marshmallow Spaghetti Challenge! Working in teams of four, students were given 20 pieces of spaghetti, 1 yard of tape, 1 yard of twine, and a pair of scissors and challenged to build the tallest free-standing structure possible with a marshmallow on top. “Along the way, students learned the importance of communication, collaboration, creativity, perseverance, and learning from failure,” said Forman. “It was a fun way to see leadership and teamwork in action while learning that sometimes the best ideas come from trying, adjusting, and trying again.” Real World Ready: When students actively apply collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity, with the grit to embrace failure and persevere, they transform from passive learners into adaptable innovators capable of tackling any real-world challenge. Way to go Vikings, we can't wait to see how you will use these essential skills to make your mark on the world.
