Real-World Ready
Mrs. Forman’s Pathway to Leadership Students Partner Up to Unlock Essential Skills for Life
Mrs. Forman’s 8th grade Leadership students put their teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills to the test with the Marshmallow Spaghetti Challenge! Working in teams of four, students were given 20 pieces of spaghetti, 1 yard of tape, 1 yard of twine, and a pair of scissors and challenged to build the tallest free-standing structure possible with a marshmallow on top. “Along the way, students learned the importance of communication, collaboration, creativity, perseverance, and learning from failure,” said Forman. “It was a fun way to see leadership and teamwork in action while learning that sometimes the best ideas come from trying, adjusting, and trying again.” Real World Ready: When students actively apply collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity, with the grit to embrace failure and persevere, they transform from passive learners into adaptable innovators capable of tackling any real-world challenge. Way to go Vikings, we can't wait to see how you will use these essential skills to make your mark on the world.
