**Hispanic Heritage History & Facts**

When Did Hispanic Heritage Month Start?

In September 17, 1968, U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson first proclaimed the Hispanic Heritage Week as sponsored by Congress.

In 1988, the U.S. officially extended the holiday and Hispanic Heritage Month was declared from September 15th to October 15th

It was expanded to a month by President Ronald Reagan. The Hispanic Heritage Month was enacted into law on August 17, 1988.

Whether through music, dance, art, or food, we come together to appreciate the vibrant traditions that have shaped our world. Stay tuned for exciting events and activities throughout the month. Let's celebrate diversity and unity!

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Dividend Coffee orientation! Your enthusiasm and commitment to making our school community stronger is truly appreciated.

A special thank you to Misa Mills from SCPS Dividends/Community Involvement and her team for coming and sharing all this valuable information with us, and to Autumn Garick, SCPS School Board Member, for her support. We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thanks to our Crystal Lake Elementary admin for allowing us to host this important event.

We encourage you to sign up for the upcoming events and volunteer opportunities. Your involvement, no matter how big or small, makes a world of difference to our students and staff. Together, we can create amazing experiences throughout the school year!
