Back on May 12th, our Black and Silver Singers had the amazing opportunity to perform at the SCPS School Board meeting and were recognized by Director of Teaching and Learning Mike Alba for their Superior with Distinction rating at District MPA!

Thank you to our school board members for their warm welcome to the board room and to Superintendent Beamon for helping our kids feel recognized and special.

As we approach the end of the school year, I want to recognize the incredible hard work of our students at the Farewell Concert on May 14th! Each choir performed so beautifully and our 8th grade soloists and groups FINALLY had their moment to shine!

Give Us Hope was next level awesome, as it is almost every year as our alumni group continues to grow. The song has come to represent a rite of passage for our eighth grade students as they join the ranks of the alumni up onstage with our current students. It is definitely one of the coolest things we do. ❤️

A special shout out to Michelle Smith (Heathrow Elementary School), Rodolfo del Hoyo (Crystal Lake Elementary School), and Andrew Toth (Woodlands Elementary School) for being our percussionists and special guests for the evening. We love you, elementary music teachers!

AN UNFORGETTABLE DAY! Black and Silver takes home a Superior and first place in the choral division at Music in the Parks with a score of 96.25! Super proud of all our kids for their hard work in the classroom and for being thoughtful, sensitive musicians who leave their best work out on the stage. ❤️🖤🩶 Way to go, Mustangs!
