Welcome back “A” rated teachers and staff! We are excited to have you return to campus as we started off the year in the Crystal Lake Grotto (media center). The fabulous PTA provided not only breakfast, they spoiled us with lunch, too. Administration went over last year’s data and set goals for this year. We also had a little fun with the “A”mazing Race. Get ready to dive into learning! We look forward to seeing our families on Friday for Meet the Teacher.

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Townsend. He will be recommended as our new Assistant Principal of Crystal Lake Elementary at the next SCPS School Board Meeting. Here is a note from Mr. Townsend:

My name is Jeff Townsend, and I am honored and excited to join the Crystal Lake Elementary family as your new Assistant Principal. I have been working in public education for over 28 years, and since 2005, I have proudly served Seminole County Public Schools as a classroom teacher, STEM Coordinator, School Administrative Manager, and Assistant Principal. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about supporting students, empowering teachers, and building strong relationships with families and the community.

I am thrilled to join the fantastic staff at Crystal Lake Elementary and become a part of the continued growth and success of our students. I look forward to meeting our families at Meet the Teacher, Curriculum Nights, and the many special events that make our school community so unique.

My wife is a Speech-Language Pathologist in Seminole County, and we are recent empty nesters. Our daughter recently moved to South Florida, and our son is proudly serving in the United States Navy on Whidbey Island, Washington. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and fishing. I also love tackling DIY projects around the house, attending sporting events, especially cheering on my alma mater, UCF, and visiting theme parks across the country in search of the best rides and roller coasters.

I am incredibly excited for the year ahead and look forward to working alongside our students, staff, and families to make this an amazing school year. Together, we will help every child learn, grow, and thrive.
