In their unit on Influential People, our 2nd graders inquired into how people make a difference. They asked themselves “what impact do people have?” and discussed consequences of individuals’ actions. Each of the 75 second graders picked one influential person to research in detail. For their culminating assessment, they dressed up as their person and presented their findings to peers and parents. @ Goethe International Charter

What was it like to live long ago? Our Goethe first graders had the opportunity to make butter, mash potatoes, learn weaving, use a quill & ink, make paper hats, plus a whole lot more. Our fantastic parent community made it all happen! @ Goethe International Charter

Our 3rd-6th graders have been learning about “Día de los Muertos” in Spanish class and created a beautiful ofrenda, an altar that represents an offering and remembrance to their loved ones who have passed away. All GICS families were encouraged to visit and bring a photo of their loved ones.
