We are proud to partner with Hutto ISD as they continue investing in the future of the teaching profession! 🦛🍎

Through Hutto ISD’s Department of Labor Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Program, aspiring educators gain meaningful classroom experience and develop their skills through on-the-job training while completing their degree and/or certification.

This is the power of teacher apprenticeship: creating an accessible pathway into the profession while giving future teachers the mentorship, training, experience, and support to be day-one ready for their own classrooms.

Hutto ISD continues to build a teacher pipeline from within their district and community.

Congratulations to this year’s apprentices—and to the teachers and leaders investing in their journey! 🎉

We’re proud to partner with Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD as they welcome their second Teacher Apprenticeship Program cohort!

This is what building a sustainable teacher pipeline looks like: identifying future teachers already serving students, creating an accessible pathway to the profession, and giving employees the opportunity to earn their degree while gaining meaningful on-the-job training and experience!

Through its Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Program, PBTISD is investing in its people and preparing the next generation of educators!

Congratulations to these 13 future teachers and to PBTISD for continuing to grow and strengthen its teacher pipeline.

Pecos is growing its own. 💜🦅💛
PBTISD is proud to welcome the second cohort of our Teacher Apprenticeship Program, giving 13 current employees a pathway to become certified teachers while continuing to work and serve students right here in our district.

Through partnerships with Western Governors University and edwell, these future educators will earn their degrees, gain hands-on classroom experience and receive mentorship along the way — all while remaining part of Eagle Nation.
Grow here. Teach here. Stay here.

What an incredible experience at at Oxford University!

ICAD brought together leaders from around the world to explore what it will take to move apprenticeship and work-based pathways from promising models to durable systems that truly serve learners, employers, and communities.

edwell was proud to bring a working Registered Teacher Apprenticeship ecosystem into that conversation alongside Reach University, Sheldon ISD, and — most importantly — teacher apprentices themselves.

Together, we were able to show what this work looks like beyond the idea: apprentices experiencing the pathway firsthand, an employer investing in and developing its own talent, a university creating an accessible degree pathway for working learners, and partners working across the ecosystem to make it all possible.

Having the apprentices in Oxford to share their own experiences was especially powerful — and a reminder that as we think about how these models grow and endure, the people they are designed to serve must remain at the center.

Grateful to Reach University and the National Center for the Apprenticeship Degree for creating a space to learn, challenge assumptions, and build what comes next.

edwell’s model helps school districts scale high-quality, DOL-registered teacher apprenticeships — but what makes the work powerful is that each district truly owns the program.

Districts embed it into their culture, align it to their community and workforce needs, and build pathways that reflect their values, educators, and students.

We saw this come to life in two recent district showcases: Hutto ISD and Alief ISD.

While grounded in a shared vision for growing and supporting teachers, each program reflected the unique identity and strengths of its district.

The result is more than replication — it’s sustainable, district-led innovation that strengthens the educator workforce from within and creates meaningful pathways into the profession.

Grateful for the incredible leaders, mentors, apprentices, and partners making this work possible.

To the teacher apprentices who are becoming tomorrow’s educators—we celebrate you.

To the mentor teachers who challenge, guide, and support future and new teachers—we celebrate you.

To the teachers shaping the next generation of doctors, teachers, plumbers, computer technicians, and so much more—we celebrate you.

You affect students every day, and during Teacher Appreciation Week, we want you to know how proud we are of you. 🍎✨
