Brazosport College continues to make progress in safely restoring systems affected by the recent network outage. As part of our ongoing response, we are also continuing the comprehensive investigation into the cyber incident with the assistance of third-party forensic specialists.

The investigation remains focused on determining the nature, scope and cause of the incident, including whether personal information was involved. This process is ongoing and requires a careful, thorough review. If the investigation determines that personal information was affected, the College will take all appropriate actions, including notifying affected individuals as required by state or federal law.

We understand the continued concern surrounding the security of personal information. Brazosport College takes its responsibility to protect the information entrusted to us seriously and remains committed to sharing additional updates when confirmed information becomes available.

At the same time, the College continues to restore campus services carefully and securely as we approach the fall semester. We remain on track for services to be available for the first day of classes on Monday, August 31.

We appreciate the patience, trust and continued support of our students, employees and community as the restoration and investigation continue.

If you set or reset your password after August 10, 2026, you do not need to reset it again. No further action is required.

Don't forget that Gator Mart is open for the Fall!
Groceries are available for current students. Our hours of operation are Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Sadler Complex (Room HS-102).

As Brazosport College continues working to restore and stabilize services following the recent network outage, we have several important updates to share.

📝 TSI ASSESSMENT AVAILABLE ON CAMPUS
Brazosport College is now able to proctor the TSI Assessment on campus. Students who need to take the TSI Assessment can visit this link to register for an assessment: https://direc.to/pgUC

Students who need assistance with registration or have questions about testing can contact the Assessment Center at 979-230-3253.

📶 CAMPUS INTERNET ACCESS
Internet access has been restored to campus computers, and most College Wi-Fi services are now available.

BCWireless and BCHardware are currently operational. Faculty, staff and students with active College network accounts should be able to connect to the appropriate wireless network.

BCGuest remains unavailable at this time. As a result, visitors and students who do not yet have an active College network account will not be able to access campus Wi-Fi.

IT continues working to restore BCGuest. If you have an active College account and are experiencing issues connecting to BCWireless or accessing the internet from a College computer, please contact the IT Help Desk at 979-230-3266 for assistance.

📢 FALL PAYMENT DEADLINE: TODAY AT 5:30 P.M.
As a reminder, the payment deadline for Fall (16 Weeks) and Fall I (8 Weeks) has been extended to Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.

Students have two options to make a payment:
• In Person: Visit the Cashier’s Office on campus, located just outside of C Wing.
• Online: Make a payment through myBC NEXT.

Students who would like to pay online can follow the step-by-step instructions in our myBC NEXT payment support guide: https://direc.to/pghk

Students who need assistance or have questions about their account are encouraged to seek support as soon as possible ahead of today’s 5:30 p.m. deadline.

📝 REGISTRATION SUPPORT

Students seeking assistance with registration, advising, financial aid or other enrollment-related needs can attend Revolution Registration this week in the Corporate Learning Center.

In-Person Support Hours:
Monday–Thursday: 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

🚧 PLAN AHEAD FOR CAMPUS CONSTRUCTION

There is active construction on campus as we continue work on Elevating BC, so some walkways, entrances and routes around campus may look different than you remember. Give yourself extra time to park and get to class, especially during the first few days of the semester.

While we do not have any significant restoration updates to share today, we want to provide a reminder of the resources currently available to students and where to go for assistance.

We hope students have had an opportunity to log in to D2L/Virtual Campus and review course-specific guidance from their instructors regarding remaining coursework, final exams, assignments and other requirements.

📚 COURSE COMMUNICATION

Because Brazosport College email remains unavailable, some instructors will use other methods to provide general updates or direct students to D2L/Virtual Campus.

However, instructors cannot share grades, student records or other personally identifiable course information through personal email accounts. To protect student information and comply with FERPA requirements, this information must be communicated through secure College systems, including D2L/Virtual Campus.

Students with questions about coursework, final exams, assignments or other course requirements should first contact their instructor through D2L/Virtual Campus. Your instructor is the best resource for course-specific guidance and next steps.

Reminder: Please note that Brazosport College will be closed until 10 a.m. tomorrow, Monday, August 17, for Fall Convocation, a College-wide meeting for faculty and staff as we prepare for the upcoming fall terms.

A Message to the Community from Dr. Vincent Solis, President of Brazosport College:

Over the past several days, Brazosport College has been responding to a significant cybersecurity incident that has disrupted many of our technology systems and affected the normal operations of our college. I know this disruption has created uncertainty, inconvenience, and, for some, concern. Students have been unable to access coursework and our college systems. Faculty and staff have had to find different ways to serve our students and conduct their work. Individuals preparing for the fall semester have encountered challenges with registration, advising, financial aid, and other services. I understand how frustrating this has been, particularly at such an important time in the academic calendar. I want you to know that Brazosport College has a plan, our leadership team is fully engaged, and we are working through this situation carefully, systematically, and with urgency.
