When I started Martial Arts training, it helped my focus, also my ability to defend myself not so much by technique but as a platform and direction. So I could bring out and hone my natural and hidden abilities, including navigating the wilderness, urban, traveling, social etc..

At the same time it also made me a ‘Target’. In this land at that time a person, especially a person of African descent practicing formal combat outside of military or traditional sports like boxing or wrestling were considered deviant, antisocial by some. In other words like a renowned boxer some people wanted to ‘try’ you. That’s when I became skilled at avoiding ’dumb’ fighting. Which could lead to you being arrested and jailed, as they intended.

If it’s senseless fighting over a girl, (every time you look around they are after a girl you like or date) most likely they are in the closet, and probably really want you, but afraid of scaring you and coming out. Sn**ch them out the closet by setting them up. Could be dangerous though but you likely will find it’s a circle or circles stalking you.

Gun play? Join the military and leave it on the battlefield wherever that may be. Better yet use guns to shoot a Turkey 🦃 (no not a jive Turkey) too many people rationalizing shooting others. Yes, people will draw you out and make you want to shoot them. Many people who commit those crimes have never taken a life, certainly not as a trained and legal special operator. Law enforcement gun play is for safety, service, absolute there was no other way possible, not practicing or killing as in warfare.

People scare me if they don’t want me to have a gun or defend myself physically. Because most of the times they were trying to hurt me. But also because they are up to no good and most other ordinary people may shoot them. So I seek God for help as some of the strongest people are succumbing.

Fighting and defending yourself is not just, fending off a mugger, nor enemy combatants in war. But the everyday trials and tribulations. No you can’t just sit there and hope God stops or send help to stop that bullet, tree falling on you or going to jail because you shot the person who goaded you.

This is a woman and guy I tried to warn against going unarmed (or at all) in the wilderness with wild bears. They saw me in the Ligers enclosure asleep, but thought I somehow had dominated them through punishment. Nothing further from the truth. But I did receive a call from her shortly before her death not sure if it was during,(not sure if it was a recording as I received the call via emergency method.)but either way it was too late. Also why I can’t listen to ‘experts’, know it alls, scholars etc. who have suddenly changed their tune. With some trying to rationalize, while deceiving.

Between 2000 and 2003, biologist Amie Huguenard spent three summers in Alaska with her boyfriend Timothy Treadwell studying and filming grizzly bears. Treadwell, who was better known as the "Grizzly Man," had met Huguenard during a book tour in 1996 and the pair had instantly bonded over their love of animals. But then, in October 2003, the couple was brutally mauled and eaten by a half-ton bear that attacked them at their camp. And the audio of their horrifying final moments was captured on tape.

I remember him walking through the mall for exercise along with others. When I was working at our store in the Salem mall. He often came in to speak with my father and I.

A Montford Point Marine and World War II veteran, Pfc. Charles Robert Fountain, posthumously received the Congressional Gold Medal, Jan. 27, 2017 at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida.

The medal was awarded to Fountain’s daughter, Kim Fountaine, by Lt. Gen. William D. Beydler, commander of U.S. Marine Forces Central Command.

Charles Fountain was part of the Montford Point Marines, a group of African-American Marines who swore to protect the U.S. during World War II.

At their time of enlistment, these Marines were segregated and received their recruit training at Montford Point, near Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina. From 1942-1949, approximately 20,000 African-American Marines were trained there.

“The impact of the Montford Point Marines goes well beyond the Marine Corps, and reaches much further out than eastern North Carolina,” said Beydler. “It should be clear from what we’ve seen and what we know that these Marines led a sweeping change of our nation.”

The Montford Point Marines were able to prove they were willing to fight for a country and a military, which at the time, didn’t want them serving.

“These Marines carved their place in the history of the Corps, because they had to fight in order to fight,” said U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Charles Jackson, an assistant security manager assigned to MARCENT. “In battle, they would have to carry the wounded, the very ones who wanted them segregated, back to safety.”

However, in 1948, President Harry S. Truman abolished segregation in the armed forces, and one year later, Montford Point was deactivated.

In 1965, a group of Montford Point Maries reunited, and established the Montford Point Marine Association, a non-profit organization whose mission is to “preserve the legacy” of the first black Marines to serve. The organization developed a creed that reads as follows; “To promote and preserve the strong bonds of friendship born from shared adversities and to devote ourselves to the furtherance of these accomplishments to ensure more peaceful times.”

“My father was so proud to be a Montford Point Marine, and he spoke about it often,” said Fountaine. “Thank you to everyone who made this happen, thank you to the Marine Corps, and Semper Fi.”

Coming from the store, I did a quick slightly off road venture. To test off road clearance. Ok on the boat ramp and dry up lake bottom. But I'm still going to lift it.

I was wondering why movie sets needed real guns. Many actually use rubber guns. But some articles say for authenticity the weight, recoil and muzzle flash is harder to replicate.

But I say replicas made out of metal would have the same weight, flash is easy to replicate. Recoil, well, work on acting skills. The gun below us real, but isn't the same color as traditional handguns. But is loaded with real live cartridges. Which you can't tell by looking. Real easy to safely check, but with other activities going on, forgetting is so easy

Having dozens and keeping track, which is loaded and with what on a busy movie set can be tedious. When I unload my gun and walk away from it or someone holds it, I recheck when I pick it up again. But not always. Which is why other safety protocols are used. Even then, room for error exists. Easy to blame hard to perform.

After telling bullies(criminals) I’ll blow their brains out for years, (can be good self defense tactics, be careful they might call your bluff) what they didn’t know was I didn’t have nor own a gun for decades😂

I had laid down my sword, nothing to prove, judged around the world already. I finally bought some guns a couple of years ago because of intuition and that gut feeling🤨

Even with permits and my other lifetime license status I rarely carry. Btw unless you are a lawyer, officer etc. you may not even need a concealed permit. Remember a gun to is just another weapon. More of a warning than to be used in this realm for me.

For many they should never have to pull let alone use their guns. It’s about attitude and demeanor and the right mind set. Police officers if like the movies or gossip would each have a body count in the hundreds to even thousands or more in their career.
