Hi all!

It's that time of year when people start asking lots of questions about course selection.

One of the most frequently asked: Is AP better or Dual Enrollment? How about IB?

And almost every year… they’re asking the wrong question.

Here’s what highly selective colleges are actually trying to figure out. When your student had choices, did they lean into challenge thoughtfully… or just stack acronyms?

In this live session, I’ll break down the following:
•How admissions offices evaluate AP vs IB vs Dual Enrollment
•Why some DE classes can actually weaken an academic narrative
•How GPA recalculations change the game
•The difference between real rigor and résumé inflation

In short, not all rigor signals are interpreted the same way and more is not always better.

If you’re planning courses for next year, you should absolutely be there.

When? 5:00 p.m. PT / 8:00 p.m. ET

We're well into the swing of admissions season! Even though I've been working with families for years and trying to spread truths, over the past few weeks, I’ve seen a wave of confusion surrounding the college admissions process.

Parents of graduating seniors are still scrambling for answers to major questions about GPAs, affordability, majors, and why their friends' friend's hardworking child was waitlisted or rejected by a dream school.

As someone with years of admissions experience, it’s hard to watch families discover critical information at the finish line and think, “If only this had come up earlier.”

I understand why it happens. The process is confusing. School counselors are often doing their best while managing enormous caseloads, leaving families to piece together answers from random corners of the internet. Worse yet... Families are trusting advice from their neighbor who knows someon.

The result? More confusion, more stress, and more myths being passed around as facts.

That’s exactly why this week’s live training is "Everything I Wish Parents Knew About the Elite College Admissions Process."

During this live training, I’ll pull back the curtain on the good, the bad, and the ugly of applying to colleges with acceptance rates below 20%.

We’ll cover topics like...

✅ What truly matters in highly selective admissions
✅ Common myths that mislead families
✅ How GPA, course rigor, testing, and activities are actually evaluated
✅ What families in the Class of 2027 and beyond should be doing now

My goal to give families honest, practical guidance so they can move forward with clarity.

Does the test profess feel especially confusing right now, especially with all the recent changes to the SAT and ACT? Lately we've been getting a lot of the same questions:

> Should my child take the ACT on paper or on the computer?
> How do we make the most of DESMOS?
>Is the new Science section worth it? And what about Writing?

Here's part of the problem: neither the College Board nor ACT has done a great job explaining why these changes are happening or what they actually mean for your student. (Fun fact: CollegeBoard tests are currently garbage predictors of student test performance)

And here's what gets me most. Families keep defaulting to the SAT out of habit and name recognition, when plenty of the students I work with test better on the ACT once they try both.

That's exactly why the Perfect Score Tutor has made it his mission to break all of this down for you, so you can walk into both tests informed and in control instead of guessing.

Tonight he'll share everything you need to know, including the major testing updates and what they mean for your family.
